moytoy12 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 This one is seemingly out of left field. 6'8" 250lb forward. Averaged 10 pts and 5 boards per game last year at UNC-Wilmington. Don't know his eligibility as he previously transferred from Valpo to UNC-W. Pistol 1 Quote
wgstl Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Love it. Sit one play 2 it seems like? Hope he can develop an outside shot Quote
johnbj14 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I think he might be a two year GT if I’m interpreting his eligibility correctly Quote
Reinert310 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Looks like a pure inside player. On ESPN, shows he was 0% from 3 both years. Not that that’s a bad thing. Shot 70% from the line last year. Quote
moytoy12 Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 "Linssen transferred from Valparaiso after his freshman season before redshirting at UNCW for the 2018-19 season. He leaves the Port City with two years of eligibility remaining." https://theseahawk.org/26016/sports/linssen-enters-transfer-portal-uncws-new-coaching-staff/ Quote
moytoy12 Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 Sounds like he might be immediately eligible. Quote
Littlebill Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Chances of a GT? If he played one, sat one, then played one, that's three. Not out of the realm of possibility Quote

SLU_Lax Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Definitely Pitbull worthy! This is wonderful news and will help immediately this year with depth and will be important next year too. Quote
RiseOfTheBillikens Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Like this alot from a roster construction standpoint. We look to have reasonable depth at every position now. Reinert310 1 Quote
dlarry Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Wow. Perfect fit. A big body backup. Just what the Dr ordered. Quote
HoosierPal Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I wonder if this German takes the place of the Swede? Quote

TheChosenOne Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I posted this in the other thread, I like the fit. Interesting name doing some quick research. More of a true back to the basket "old school" big who will (edited) be a grad transfer, so immediate eligibility with two seasons to play. Began his career at Valpo where he didn't get consistent playing time as a freshman, but transferred to UNC Wilmington where he was a starter and put up solid numbers as a redshirt sophomore (10.5 points and 4.6 rebounds in 20.5 minutes per game). Of note is how he finished the season for UNC Wilmington (games of 20 points and 6 rebounds/10 points/16 points and 13 rebounds/9 points and 2 blocks/19 points/18 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks). Certainly fits a need going forward and he will be battle tested competing against French this year. UNC Wilmington hired a new coach, so maybe this was a case of the new coach going in a different direction as far as roster construction and style of play. Pistol 1 Quote
3star_recruit Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Put up good numbers for a horrible UNC-Wilmington team. Looks like the big man equivalent of what Weaver was at the guard position: a one-dimensional career backup. I'm fine with that. Especially the free throw shooting. TheChosenOne and CBFan 2 Quote
