It seems that he's the only real leader on the team. Certainly no leadership being shown by the upperclassmen.

For the most part I have really liked Milik's honest commentary (beyond being a little too cocky for my liking). Wasn't there some knocks on his character and that is why he wasn't overly recruited? The kid is legit and a competitor, glad that other programs stayed away and we grabbed him in the spring.

I like cocky players. That said, we need more than just him to play at a high level.

What happened to AY?

He seemed a little out of control early.

Now I have trouble remembering when he was in the game.

Might have had a bout of disorientation when he drove with his head down and clanged the ball off the bottom of the backboard into his face. That's never fun.

Pretty pleased with this quote

“I can’t really say there’s (any) positives,” said freshman guard Milik Yarbrough, who scored 14 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. “We played really, really bad. We didn’t come out with fire like we usually do. We didn’t execute like we usually do. We didn’t play defense like we usually do. It was all bad today.”

http://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/slu-has-no-fire-in-losing-at-george-mason/article_0a525d95-72b8-51e5-a23b-a541d53a73a0.html

Although I don't like to hear the part in bold. I can understand not playing well, but I never understand not coming out with fire especially in a conference game and after our VCU performance.

After that 63-61 defeat, SLU coach Jim Crews had warned against his young squad playing to their opponents’ record in their next contest. After this one, he wasn’t in the business of guessing whether they’d done just that.

“I don’t know,” he said of the question. “You can’t win if you think that way, I know that. If you play in the NFL or pee wee basketball, you can’t win that way.”

Need a lot more physical play-let the guards play like guards-big men need to focus on inside game not the outside

It is tough to have to put that largely on freshmen like Milik, Gillmann, and Jolly (at least that was the case last night). Really frustrating that Manning is essentially the current version of Bryce Husak, Lancona turned himself into a wing/shooter, and Agbeko provides few positives (beyond 11 minutes against VCU). As fans we have been begging for long and athletic forwards for so long and have had one in Willie Reed, definitely a position we have struggled to recruit for years, yet we consistently go up against those types of players and look overmatched at that position.

That sentence about TL hurt my brain.

What is up with Yarb trying to put up shots when hes being trapped by 3 defenders 8 feet from the rim and still trying to shoot instead of passing it out. Hes by far our best attacker and best 1 on 1 player, and best 2 on 1 but 3 on 1.

That was kind of frustrating watching last night. Many times McBroom or Crawford would be wide open in the corner and Malik would drive into a forest of GM players only to have the ball swatted away.

Is MY a 3 or 4? Similar to the popular "is DE a 3 or a 4" debates. I thought DE was at his best as a 3 alongside CE. In the future, I would like to see a quality 4, so MY can spend most of his time as a big 3, as opposed to an undersized 4.

I totally agree, but am willing to chalk it up as it being part of his learning curve. From the beginning of the season until now, he has picked up how to get to the basket and score at this level. Now he needs to learn when that's not going to happen and how to create points using his teammates when there's a crowd around him.

Yarbrough is getting increasingly frustrated with his teammates inability to finish off of his passes. Doesn't surprise me to see him take it 1 on 3 after seeing his passes go out of bounds or off fingertips all game long.

That's the kind of thing that concerns me about him not staying and leaving to go play with better players. His frustration with his teammates seems to be growing stronger.

What is the basis for your first sentence? That's a pretty bold charge.
