DeSmetBilliken
EWU may have just lost a guy that was the leading scorer in D-1, while also being an Academic All-American, but their Instagram selfie game just went way up.
RiseAndGrind
Is he getting a graduate degree in Vines and Snaps? His commitment to Eastern Washington indicates to me he wasn't too highly sought after by schools.
The Wiz
This thread gives me a chance to post an interesting college b-ball article about EWU and Tyler Harvey...a rags to riches story.. Ever wonder how a team that was worse than we were this year ( EWU = F+ ) lands a two and done NBA prospect. The story is about Tyler Harvey...a player nobody wanted. His high school team didn't want him ( too short) ...His HS team finally took him and he became a starter as an upperclassman. Coming out of high school , again nobody wanted him. His Dad talked the EWU coach into letting his kid become a walk on.....and the rest is history as he leaves school this spring (after his sophmore year) to join the NBA. A few takeaways besides the great basketball story. Takeaway 1....EWU 2 years ago was an F+ team (10-21 with a 321 SOS)....Last year with the addition of Harvey they finished at D+...a little bit better than the Bills D rating This year EWU finished at C+...I don't have an A-10 equivalent...UMass finished at B-....St. Joe at C...so somewhere between St. Joe and UMass. EWU record was 23-9...again to put it in perspective...they would have finished about .500 in the A-10.(9-9) While they got to the NCAA tourney this year and had a great record.. in the big order of things they were a slightly above average team that did very well because they were in a weak conference. While there is no denying a tremendous improvement over the last couple of years... had they been in the A-10, that 1 superstar player would not have been enough.....Takeaway...one player doesn't make a team especially in the A-10. Takeaway 2....Sometimes it is not about being a McD AA or 5 having stars or great reports from experts....Sometimes, it takes heart. For a coach, it takes the ability to find the diamond in the rough. It is funny to watch some here on the board make judgements (good and bad) about kids who are not here.(recruits and prospects) Next time you want to call someone a stiff think of Tyler Harvey ...the player no one wanted....Takeaway ...As the wise sage Joaquin Andujar once said...."you never know" Oh yeah....here is the link to the story...... http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCwQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.swxrightnow.com%2Fstory%2F27853836%2Ffrom-unknown-to-unmistakable-the-story-of-ewus-tyler-harvey&ei=mso1VYvrIomAsQTPs4GoDw&usg=AFQjCNEBqxAqWf1ZZcMh_7D1TCGofORcqg&bvm=bv.91071109,d.cWc

billikenbill
Had a thought early on that Eastern Washington would be where Lancona would wind up and now AM is going there. Any word on where Tanner will matriculate?

Pistol
Douchebags of a feather, they flock together. Why would such an aspiring douchebag hitch his wagon to such a failure of a douchebag who couldn't hack it at SLU? Good luck being 'fly' in Cheney, Washington, Blake and Austin. There will be nothing else to do out in the high desert there except shirtless bathroom selfies.

gobillsgo
If nothing else this is a big win for the eastern Washington homeless population I'd be surprised if McBroom ever gave another dollar to the homeless. That was a one time deal for the recognition.
hsmith19
It might be a good idea to avoid talking smack about Eastern Wash until we see what next year brings. They were a top 100 team with Harvey and didn't exactly embarrass themselves in the tournament.

hsmith19
I assumed he'd be gone. No idea who else they're adding besides McBroom, but after a tourney appearance I figured their stock would be on the rise.
