Tyler Cook and Eric Curry now both have scholarship offers from Arkansas . The Hawgs are putting pressure on Cook to commit sooner rather than later.

Elyjah Goss reportedly performed well in Milwaukee. I assume the staff will be evaluating their other Plan B forwards next week. We'll land a solid power forward even if Curry goes elsewhere.

Now that we have one guard on board for 2016, I think the commitment front will be pretty slow for awhile. Curry has a lot of options to mull over right now. I imagine he's going to want to take his some official visits after the July evaluation periods. Even if we were to beat the odds and land him, it won't be any time soon.

If I were the coaching staff, I would set up some official visits with my Plan B recruits in the meantime. That would buy them some time so they can see how the Curry situation plays out.

Talk to you guys in a couple of months!

My feeling is that the Curry ship has sailed. We were in on him at the right time, but now the big programs (including the in-state Arkansas, whose system would suit him well) are all over him. I'm just not sure there's enough SLU heat left there.

(I hope I'm wrong.)

I thought I read an article that if Arkansas offered it was game over for everyone else. Who knows. I'm pulling for Cook to end up at Arkansas.

Arkansas has room for both. 5 open spots for 2016 (although they do have a few offers out to JUCO sophomores, such as Arlando Cook, the Madison Prep kid SLU passed on a couple years ago).

I want Cook at Arkansas because I think it would be hilarious that Mike Anderson starts pulling in Missouri recruits after he leaves Mizzou.

Isn't it quite possible SLU "passed" on the kid because he had to go to a JUCO?

He visited IUPUI with Mike Lewis in June. Scouting Report: Gladson was on the high-major radar early in his high school career but proceeded to tear both ACLs in consecutive seasons, considerably slowing him down. He remains a skilled, smart big man with good post moves and a consistent jumper, but development has been slowed by ACL tears in each knee in consecutive seasons. Twitter: @WILL_to_win_11

Latest News: Myles was not on the United Township roster for a summer event. His situation remains a mystery, as always. Scouting Report: Myles is a big, athletic guard with the ability to take over a game. He’s a strong defender, shooter, and passer. He started his career at Davenport West, transferred to Sunrise Christian (KS), and is now at United Township on the IL side of the Quad Cities. He’s rumored to be leaving there, as well.

Skyler Nash: SG, 6-5, 205, Chicago, IL (Riverside Brookfield) - Offers: Kansas State. Interest: SLU, Wisconsin, DePaul, Marquette, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio State, Indiana, Iowa State, West Virginia, Yale. Latest News: Nash had a cancerous tumor removed in May. He is in remission but is being monitored regularly and requires quarterly colonoscopies. Nash has visited SLU, Michigan, DePaul, Purdue, and Marquette, and many others are interested but haven’t come through with offers. He transferred from Whitney Young to Riverside Brookfield for his senior season and is considering prep school afterward. Scouting Report: Nash is a strong, physical wing who finishes strong and rebounds the perimeter well. Twitter: @NashSkyler

Dru Smith: G, 6-3, 180, Evansville, IN (Reitz)Offers: Evansville, Indiana State, Ball State, Northern Kentucky, South Alabama. Interest: SLU, George Mason, Butler, Loyola-Illinois, Bradley. Latest News: SLU has shown interest in Smith lately, checking out recent AAU games. Smith said he’s waiting through July before planning 2-3 official visits. So far, he really seems to be responding to Ball State’s in-state recruiting message. Scouting Report: Smith has a thick frame for his age, causing him to frequently guard forwards on the defensive end despite being a combo guard on the other end. He’s a high energy player who does a little bit of everything. Twitter: dru_smith_12

Ashton West: G, 6-2, 180, Blue Springs, MO (Legacy Charter, Greenville, SC) - Offers: Davidson, Cornell, Miami-Ohio, Weber State, Jacksonville, Cal State-Bakersfield, Liberty. Latest News: West will take an unofficial visit to Vandy in August. He will be attending Legacy Charter School in Greenville, SC. He has bounced around to at least three different high schools. SLU was first reported to show interest in West around late October. The level of interest picked up in the fall, but it’s tough to tell which offers and interested schools are still active. Scouting Report: A pass-first guard and good outside shooter, West is limited athletically but sat out a whole season with 3 torn ligaments and reclassified as a 2016 recruit. Twitter: @AshtonPG3

Isn't it quite possible SLU "passed" on the kid because he had to go to a JUCO?

I wasn't passing judgment, merely stating a fact. I don't know if he "had" to go to a juco or what. If memory serves, his only offers were from Western Illinois, SIUE, and Austin Peay or someone like that.

Now his offers are Iowa State, Nebraska, Memphis, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Nevada, Houston, LSU, Tulsa, and K-State. Juco has served him well.
