Bills_06
@prepbullseye: Matt Painter, Chris Mack & Jim Crews among head coaches watching St. Louis Eagles. Also assts from Duke, Purdue, St. Louis, Oregon, MO St. So guessing the Crews and Tanner combo again watching him.
Basketbill
Was watching an ESPN recruiting show and the talked about Jayson Tatum. Nothing new, but what struck me is the "rankings might still shift a little". Really these top 20 kids have been analyzed and evaluated since they were in 8th grade, what is going to change that much in the next three months. Perhaps committing to SLU today would drop Jayson down a few notches and whoever commits to DUK and UK moves up....nah could not happen. I also believe there isn't a dominant player in this class. The top 3 guys have been shuffled for the past 18 months now. Jayson could still become that guy. He's 17 and still growing. slufan13
Everything I've read is that Tatum is the most skilled guy in his class with NBA ready skills but he isn't an elite athlete compared to guys like Giles. He may not finish as the #1 recruit but the top 3 is great and all would probably be #1 in most years
3star_recruit
Elyjah Goss, a 6'7 Chicago-area forward the staff has been tracking for awhile, plans on attending the SLU elite camp in June. Finished strong at the end of the high school season. Good hands, jumps well, decent handle, above average rebounder. Scores just enough to keep defenses honest. Would be the quickest forward on this team. Played 2nd fiddle to an Illini recruit so he'll get more opportunities to score next year. Having a solid spring so far with his AAU team. More likely they're trying to get in the mix for the 2018 class. The hype right now is there are two McDonalds All Americans in that class alone. This is more straightforward as a play on Cook and Sneed who are currently being coached on Tate's AAU team.
moytoy12
Pirates > Cardinals. That being said, Ingram, a 6'8" kid who was rated as a top 5 2015 recruit committed to Duke. It's obvious Duke is preparing for life without FBJT.
Quality Is Job 1
Pirates > Cardinals. That being said, Ingram, a 6'8" kid who was rated as a top 5 2015 recruit committed to Duke. It's obvious Duke is preparing for life without FBJT. Pirates? They lost to the Cubs. The Cards are playing the Phillies. I agree that Duke must prepare not to land Jayson Tatum, but a likely one-and-done '15 kid won't be the cause of it.

RiseAndGrind
Exactly. I don't know what took him so long to hire him. Didn't we just enter a dead/quiet/ whatever period? He probably told him he was hired 2 weeks back and just let him keep coaching.

It took them a month to hire Tate. It wasn't a dead period when Fuller quit.
TheChosenOne
Who? I think the 2018 local studs would include Carte'Are Gordon (Vianney power forward), Torrence Watson (Whitfield wing), and Courtney Ramey (Webster pg). Earl Austin has retweeted a number of positive things regarding Gordon and Ramey this spring. Other names I have seen include Fred Thatch (athletic wing from Sikeston), Darius Beane (Carbondale pg), Kale Catchings (CBC small forward), and Jericole Hellems (Chaminade small forward). wgstl
Is he headed to Webster? It was just a rumor I've heard from a few people, we wants to continue to play along side Ramsey(other than AAU) and with his brother. Hope its true but who knows. 3star_recruit
Wouldn't Cook start on day one most places, sans Duke or Kentucky? He's being recruited at a high major level. Most high majors in the top 50 already have a pretty good player at his position.
Cowboy
He's being recruited at a high major level. Most high majors in the top 50 already have a pretty good player at his position. -have you or anyone that wants to opine seen enough of Cook away from the basket to project that he will be successful at a high level or do you think his game around the basket is enough for that success? and he is great around the basket versus other high schoolers -also, anything new with Will Gladsen? if he can stay healthy and keep improving his mobility and quickness I think he could be a nice player for SLU
