Bay Area Billiken Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 The team formerly known as the Avalanche has melted. Quote
cgeldmacher Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Larry finally, hopefully, figuring out that spot up threes are his wheelhouse. No more crazy drives into three defenders Larry. More open threes please. Quote
SluSignGuy Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Most important four minutes of the season coming up here... Quote
cgeldmacher Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Returners from last season had 59 of the 95 points Quote
slu72 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Ok, it’s Avila. No big deal but Thames played well against SC. Don’t want to go overboard here, but Kellen is reminding me a little of Jordair. A taller Jordair. Go ahead tell me I’m dreaming. CenHudDude 1 Quote
Old guy Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Very nice win by 51 points. Avila was a lot better than I expected but just could not do it. As a bonus we saw just about everyone in the SLU roster play. Quote
CenHudDude Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 I didn’t see the game at all, but see that Swope was 1 for 9 from 3. Was he double teamed, closely guarded, or just wildly off? Quote

CenHudDude Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 A 51 point win was nice, but we were upstaged by the LUC Ramblers. They beat Eureka today by 52, scoring 105 points in the win. I wonder what the fans get when they score 100 points, a slice of deep dish pizza? Quote
gobillsgo Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Not really sure playing that game makes us any better…. Decent stat padder for some of the guys I guess. Quote

Old guy Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 We all know that Swope is good and everybody can have a day off. What we did not know was how good the bench really is or can be. And as a bonus Hughes II made a bunch of 3 pointers. I am very happy with this game. Now we still need to see similar results in other games. Quote
billiken_roy Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Any one that can't see the third, fourth and even the fifth option in this offensive mindset won't get wide open opportunities doesn't understand what Schertz is trying to do. This is something that really hadn't been forever. Hughes, Thames, Avila all will have wide open chances a lot. I believe in them and when they make them then swopes and jimerson will be open as well I am sure there will be nights they won't shoot well as a team, but I believe that won't happen a lot. I love what we are seeing develop and believe we are in for quite a lot of fun. TheA_Bomb 1 Quote

JettFlight5 Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Jimerson really only got held up off a screen once or twice. Robbie will give him more space when he’s back. Quote
slu72 Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Thames continues to impress. If his 3 improves he’s gonna be a load. Quote
David King Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 NAIA Avila shouldn't even be on the schedule. They suck. This game tells us nothing. VeniceMenace and SLU_Nick 2 Quote
Dr. Holly Hills Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Not much to glean from this matchup. I’ve been a little disappointed in LHJ’s play. Got beat on D a couple of times, fouled a 3pt shooter. Glad to see his shot start falling, but it was 2nd half and basically already garbage time. Also, one pass, early shot-clock makes. Quote

Imo arguably the three best players on the floor yesterday were jimerson, Thames and Hughes. Our only holdovers. I don't think that is how the season will go, but I think it definitely shows they ALL three belong and will be key players. AGB91, Old guy and CenHudDude 3 Quote
