courtside Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 A couple of games stand out for SLU Women's soccer this Spring. Arkansas and Oklahoma St. Arkansas is 7th Nationally) in Top Drawer Soccer Spring Rankings. (Vandy is 5th after winning SEC Tourney Title). It's an opportunity to play a top 10 caliber team and an SEC Power. Also, Oklahoma St. Is 18th in Top Drawer Soccer National Spring Rankings. Big 12 also presents an opportunity against one of the best teams in one of the best four leagues. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-national-rankings/women Quote

courtside Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 The McKendree game this past week was on ESPN+, so is today's game vs Kansas City. ESPN+, 1:30pm right after the Men's game. Quote

Watch the rest and probably the current ladies and men's games tomorrow. Quote

They were much better in the 2nd half. Quote
slufanskip Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 The ladies looked good. Freshman Hannah Larson with a goal and an assist in her 1st game. (also scored in the exhibition game) We are going to like her a lot. Imo she was the best player on the field for the Bills in her 1st game as a freshman on the preseason A10 favorite. She's dangerous 1v1 and could have easily had a couple other assists. I have no idea how good UMKC is supposed to be Quote
courtside Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Unfortunately the SLU v Xavier game will not be an ESPN+ game. And it will not be streamed either. Neutral site game in suburban Indy. Xavier, again, is defending Big East Champs both regular season and tourney. Quote

courtside Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 I don't see any TV yet, and, it'd be a shame if there wasn't. SLU Women face Arkansas this weekend in soccer. Arkansas is a top 10 team that often plays and aesthetically pleasing style of play. Nice test for SLU. slufanskip 1 Quote

courtside Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 3-1 win for SLU Women at Arkansas is big time. Goins and Podojil are prolific offensive players for Arkansas. Vanfossin is an elite defender. Very good team. They can light up the scoreboard. They defeated Missouri St. 7-0 on 33 shots their first game. Having to go on the road to strong Power 5 teams and get results on the road is the next step for the program to turn the corner. Quote
slufanskip Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 That’s a huge win. I wonder if we will be ranked after that. Too bad it wasn’t streamed. Thanks for the clips Courtside. Both nice goals Quote
Cowboy Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 -great win for the Ladies! first win for the program over a top 10 team, fantastic! keep it going Quote
