Do you really expect a billiken who honestly didn't play at SLU to be "upgraded?"7 likes

Players 11-13 at a program must step down before they step up again. That's true for pretty much any program in America.6 likes

17 going on 35. Crespin has a very mature approach to decision making. We live in a free agent environment where people feel they need to hide their hand. He's making his intentions known right up front.4 likes -

At this point with the NIL every player is on a year by year commitment now. If Crespin is good enough to turn pro after playing for SLU for a year then he will be an impact big that fills a need this season.3 likes -

It's very naive to think these players won't pursue NIL money. I believe it's on the mind of every player and will impact where he or she eventually ends up playing. The days of do or die for lunch money are now in the rearview mirror of every players' new car.2 likes -
Not a lot of D1 schools are looking for a guy who can dunk and not much else. Go down to a JUCO and learn to play basketball.2 likes

In addition, I'm also happy to see local players who had SLU offers but originally signed elsewhere, wind up transferring to programs way below SLU... Kobe Clark, Kasubke, Mario McKinney as recent examples.1 like

And everyone’s personal financial situation may change at any time. A player may decide they don’t want to get an NIL deal, but then say a family member gets ill and needs expensive medical care or drugs that’s not covered by insurance. Plenty of reasons players may want to start getting the most money they can. I’d tell them make as much as you can now, you are only 1 injury away from a career ending, just make sure you properly report your income to keep the IRS away.1 like -

nothing crazy but a bunch of former and current SLU guys playing some pickup. I spotted J good, Roby, Yuri, Nesbitt, okoro, and Pickett. Anyone else of note?1 like

Only reason he's going to JUCO is because of grades. Much like Jimmy Bell, he's already been at SLU two seasons. Scholastically this is a step backwards and means he is not a sophomore credit wise.1 like

Today is Rick Majerus's birthday. It is also the 8th anniversary of SLU cracking the top 10 in the polls.1 like
