The field gets lights after years of not having lights, the old dilapidated lights fell on people last season, and y'all want to act like the AD is good? 

I find it interesting that it did become a pet issue by many and it's getting addressed after years. 

I took ol' Pal's advice and asked the AD for a face to face meeting. No response. Shocked.

But good stuff pulling that quote from the article. I'm sure it's ok for you to cut and paste from a paid article because you absolutely asked the owner of the material that you could.  Or does ol cut and paste bot.v1 not have copyright protection parameters programmed in?  May want to include copyright protection if the program ever upgrades.  I'm thinking the program should be abandoned.

Yay SLU Baseball Field now on par with local 2A HS, almost no shade, no concession stand. My local 2A HS has that at least.

A weird flex or a limited understanding a United States fair use rules.  Hard to say.

What is he supposed to say? It’s a laughingstock thing around town with their entire set up being worse than most high schools and no press box or seating. Recruits play all over in summer on nicer fields and at MCC games and with others with nicer set ups yet baseball coach still wins without their help. We are now celebrating lights. What a low bar for a D1 program that has been to NCAA tourneys, won A10 championships and had several players drafted into the MLB.

Lights are a necessity, not a luxury.

I think it is defensible under Federal rules, given the nature of an online forum and a thread specifically acknowledging the Substack post.  But it would not meet APA or Chicago standards for that term paper.

Let the record reflect that SLU92 did not make this about AD Chris May, that was Billiken Roy and Hoosier Bot.

 

However, since they brought it up. What can SLU92 bish about?

How about we see one nice post-game highlight on Social Media, and we fawn over it? Almost every other school does that every game? Yeah, there's software and people that can do that kinda stuff fast, and it's marketing.  It's easy to do and we don't even do it.

How about just consistently getting game start times right. Or never getting them wrong.

Has SLU put out any info on how they plan to navigate the changes in the college sports landscape?  Or just a statement?  University of Texas and others did months ago.  If only to say here's the current landscape, more changes are expected and we at SLU plan to be competitive.  Something. Maybe even a radio interview? A little insight that the school and conference is working on it. Nothing.

NIL Collective still needs work. Have they had any events, tweets, emails? I've gotten nothing. Anyone else?

I feel like Kat Williams talking about how profoundly stupid Chris May is, but you know what I know it’s true, might eventually all come to light, either way, his record at SLU speaks for itself over last 17 years. Guy is a loser.

Roy, name 3 things guy has done to make SLU better. Just 3. 
CC and Soccer building he didn’t drive that was Ford/Chaifetz - copied Florida’s (which they already have replaced a couple years ago) and soccer was Kalish and Kavanaugh. Chris May is so great though you’ll have an easy time regardless.

Im looking forward to watching a night game or two when I come back to campus this year.  I hope the pitching is better.  Our "ace" who wasn't very good last year transferred to Missouri State.    By the way Mo State has a freshman pitcher on their roster named Charlie Spoonhour.  Hmmm

If you're in charge you get credit for things even if you weren't necessarily the lead on them.  So he can get credit for CC, hiring Schertz, and Kalish. But that sword cuts both ways you also get the blame.  Kinda like how the CEO of Boeing doesn't personally install the doors but if one falls off he gets some blowback.

But how many times have we been told- bishing about things makes no difference? Is it a coincidence that there are going to be lights on the field this year? The year after it became a pet issue for quite a few baseball fans?

No one reads this stuff. Only the BoT or rich boosters have any input.

The copyright law does allow you to pull a small amount from another piece without violating the law.  As long as you note where it came from should not be a problem.

I don’t think any computer code has yet been granted the legal standing of a human being, but I’m sure that’s coming.  Skynet has to star somewhere, after all.

The issue overall is the whole institution is so out of touch with reality. How does any AD look at the spring sports and say we are on par with Lindenwood, SIUE, Maryville or even MCC high school teams? How do the coaches even recruit in 2025 with social media and facilities? May hasn’t even tried to build anything over 17 years or help the spring sports overall. All his eggs are in Schertz basket, hoping mbb wins each year. Hope isn’t a strategy, but has been for May his whole career. Same AD who was going to let Hendrickson walk to ISU last spring after winning again. Tells you all you need to know. If only May knew what majority of people outside of SLU bubble thought of him and program. A very special AD. What a joke. Baseball program needs to just hire a coach similar to what they did with Volleyball. Young and cheap while wasting millions on Ford contract, Tillett nonsense and just call it what it is….an after thought. Quit pretending. 
My HOPE is new president figures out how big of a clown this guy really is and fires him. SLU can do better.
