Like @OkieBilliken he wouldn't be here anymore. I think it would have been more like five years before he moved on, but moved on he would have. May didn't hire Hendrickson and can't remember who actually made that call. That was when Levick was technically still the AD, but already had announced she was resigning the position. For us, no new activity for quite awhile. There are still several hundred players unsigned. I’m not sure if we are done for the year, but it seems like a new bat or two might be helpful, considering all the offense we lost. Pistol 1 Quote

OkieBilliken Posted July 2 Author Posted July 2 Speaking of offense for next year, a couple of updates from Summer League action Chase Beattie is absolutely crushing the Northwoods League. He is hitting .317 AVG/.978 OPS with 5 HR/20 RBI in 23 games for Waterloo. Brendan Stressler, playing for Danville of the Prospect League, is hitting .311/.849 OPS These guys were our #1 and #2 off the bench bats last year and both look to take a big part in lineup next year. Especially in this new age of NIL where players are paid, expectations need to be raised. A 17 year middle manager who actually took a wreaking ball to soccer and basketball programs, only to be bailed out by Kavanaugh and Chaifetz respectively. If a big donor doesn’t step up, nothing gets done. And I’m sure someone will retort “why don’t you write a big check to AD then?” And my response to that is, what’s the plan and vision for whole program besides taking orders from Chaifetz and Kavanaugh and window dressing everything up with platitudes and fake AD of the Year awards? Substance matters, actions over words. Quote
OkieBilliken Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 New portal addition. Joe Connolly - Pos: UT (Omaha, NE) transferring in from Iowa. He was the #5 ranked player in the state of Nebraska as a HS senior. His spent his freshman year (2024) at Iowa, but doesn't look like he played. Not sure if it was a redshirt or injury, so he would have full eligibility at SLU Pistol, DirtyRican, Lord Elrond and 1 other 4 Quote
