If he learns to score around the rim, he may earn a scholarship or get one elsewhere at a lower level. 6'9 that shoot's and hits a lot of 3's. See a few box scores where he shoots around 10 attempts a game.
Pistol
He definitely has an inside-out kind of game. More of a SF than a true big.

By the way, SLU will go from 14 to 19 different countries represented on its all-time roster this season: Australia Bulgaria (Sotirov) Canada China (Zhang) France (Magassa) Germany Ghana Greece Iceland Israel Ivory Coast Mali Netherlands (van Bussel) New Zealand Nigeria Senegal Serbia (Curcic) Spain Sweden

It was reported on this board earlier that 6'9" Nokes was also walking on. If our new Bulgarian is walking on, that leaves only the one scholarship left as far as seats on the bench. The NCAA used to limit rosters to 15, but I don't know if that has changed. With the NIL rules, walk on's can get nice $ packages (yes even foreign players have found ways of doing this). Why do you believe he is a walk on? Is this a hedge on Ezewiro's waiver maybe not being granted?
wgstl
So we have 4 walk ons? Nokes, Sotirov, evans and Jones. Is that the max? Feels like its gotta be.

Also Ruben Cotto was from Puerto Rico I believe…. Not technically a different country obviously but they do have their own Olympic team. I've seen that the roster limit is 15 but I'm wondering if there's a higher limit until the COVID bonus players work their way out of the system. There must also be exceptions for the Ivies and service academies, which often have 20-ish players on the roster. If SLU uses all scholarships, that would be 17. We're at 16 now with Nokes, Sotirov, Evans, and Jones as walk-ons. I can confirm that Sotirov is a walk-on, @HoosierPal. I don't think he is a hedge for Ezewiro; I think whoever gets the last scholarship will serve that purpose, combined with the bigs already on the roster. Are Evans and Jones currently practicing with the team? We saw Nokes in one video doing wind sprints with the team. Ezewiro stated that he no longer would have to play with his back to the basket, so I wonder who/what gets the final scholarship, a classical 5, back to basket or a classical 4. HoosierPal
stu durando @studurando Tsvet Sotirov will be a walk-on for SLU, leaving one spot to fill. He had other D-I scholarship offers. 7/7/23, 10:18 AM Responding to Other offers stu durando @studurando @lstritt11 I believe MVC-type programs. 7/7/23, 10:45 AM stu durando @studurando SLU is hoping to add one more big to round out the roster. Between scholarship players and walk-ons, that would give the Billlikens nine players 6-7 and taller. 7/7/23, 10:29 AM

He was from Greece and as for as I know the only Billiken to have an international arrest warrant issued for him by Interpool. He was charged with desertion in Greece for not reporting to mandatory military service. I think he got that cleared up, but he never returned to SLU for his senior season.
