HoosierPal
This isn't even close. Bonner, scored 45 points with 20 boards, 5 assists in a OT win at Loyola. I doubt if many, if any of us, were there, but I do remember listening to the game on KMOX. slufanskip and TheBand like this

No knock on AB but how do you score 45 points and get 20 boards and only shoot 3 free throws. What am I missing though? Did he hit a few 3’s? 19 x 2 = 38 + 2 = 40. Either way, that’s a hell of a game
juniorbill76
Bonner hit 19 of 30 shots from the floor and all seven free throws he tried. He pulled down 20 rebounds. He made 5 assists and 4 steals. He scored 45 points and committed only one turnover in 45 minutes. -Chicago Tribune https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1990-03-02-9001180397-story.html

Yes, I imagine that if this board existed back in 1990, it would have melted down due to the foul situation. https://saintlouisu_ftp.sidearmsports.com/custompages/MBB/stats/198990Stats.pdf

Duff Man
Limiting to 1 game per player, in games the Billikens won, since 1985 Roland Gray @ New Mexico 3/23/1989 (W 66-65) - 34 points, 11 rebounds, 12-22 FG, 5-9 3P, 5-7 FT Anthony Bonner @ Loyola 3/1/1990 (W 102-86 OT) - 45 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assist, 19-30 FG, 7-7 FT Larry Hughes @ Marquette 1/24/1998 (W 71-62) - 40 points, 13-22 FG, 5-9 3P, 9-10 FT Jordair Jett @ Rhode Island 1/7/2014 (W 59-58) - 31 points 10-18 FG, 2-2 3P, 9-13 FT Javonte Perkins vs LSU 11/28/2020 (W 85-81) - 32 points, 10-18 FG, 4-8 3P, 5 assists, 8-8 FT Yuri Collins @ George Mason 2/2/2022 (W 92-90 2OT) - 35 points, 11-24 FG, 3-7 3P, 13 assists, 5 steals, 5 rebounds, 10-10 FT slufanskip likes this

I’d still call Yuri’s my #1 as he also scored the game winning bucket. Not only did he score 35 but he had a 13/3 assist/to and 5 steals. I can see someone going with Larry or AB though, not a wrong choice there. Id say Has 21/24 vs Belmont needs to be on the list. Regardless of which one anyone tabs as their #1, we just watched one of the top few individual performances in the last 35+ years of Billiken basketball

Ryan was the starting stretch 4 on the 1998 Billikens. I never went to school with Jeff but seem to recall he was Ryan's older brother and played before my arrival in Midtown. billiken_roy
I know all the lucks. But the conversation was about Bonner who played with Jeff that is why I posted what I did. Ryan turned out to be a nice player, but I still think Jeff was the best

Ryan was quicker than Linssen and stretched the defense with his 35% shooting from 3. He was the tallest guy on the team that was not a freshman and was a 10 and 6 guy in the top division in CUSA. We don't have a stretch 4 and I'm sure Travis would rather have one at his disposal rather than start 4 perimeter players like we do. Majerus definitely would have. billiken_roy
our opinions. so no one is right. imo, ryan wouldnt be in our top 8 players and fighting williams and jones for time. i liked all the lucks but we have way more across the board talent on this roster than ryan's teams had. The hidden nugget about that game is it also contained arguably the worst 10-minute stretch of basketball played by Hasahn. He didn’t score his first field goal until the 9:11 mark of the first half. It makes his final numbers even more incredible. I remember commenting to my friend “WTF is French doing today?!” He showed me! billikenbill likes this
