As the temperatures drop toward freezing, the Covid cases spike.  I'm glad the toughest games in our conference schedule are backloaded.  My hope is if we get hit, it's a two week pause and not a month.

It is the same reason we have spikes in the south in the summer.  People spend massive amounts of time in poorly ventilated areas to avoid uncomfortable temperatures.

I have a feeling many of these games are getting canceled not because of massive breakouts on teams, but because they moved away from the pod practice system they had last season.  Now if one guy gets it, the whole team and staff have to quarantine.

Yep they changed the active protocols but didn’t change the reactionary protocols to match. If that makes sense.

BBF…just stop!!

stop what, telling the truth?????  again, it wasn't BBF starting anything, but just responding to other's comments...and by the way, every thing BBF has said, while not necessarily being popular with the tolerant crew, is 100% factual....again, what is your idea of a message board, something where everyone agrees and only presents one side of an argument??? what is amusing is the childish use of troll and bad post reactions from individuals who offer no actual opinion...whose idea was that anyway????

Good to know all of our players are vaxxed.

The spooky part is the possible vax resistance of omicron.  If the initial reports are correct it may be associated with a milder illness.  The problem is that government entities like our glorious city and county are not going to care what variety you have and their possible response is likely to be overblown and overwrought..........

Referring to yourself in the third person and claiming to be infallible...yikes.

Games are being canceled almost hourly.  Too many to count.  We are on a run-away train.

luckily the game is tomorrow, if this was a few days ago id be far more nervous about the Auburn game.

Yes.  Hopefully Auburn is here, tested, and ready to rumble.

The Drake game in Vegas - five days is too far ahead to think about, considering what we are seeing today.

That Columbia University study released yesterday suggests that Omicron is pretty vaccine resistant.  The good news when it comes to the Billikens is that I have seen reports that previous infection is still believed to provide robust immunity to omicron.  Now if one of the new guys get it, we might have to miss a game, but at least it looks like their is a decent chance that will be it.  That said, this all depends on our opponents not having to shutdown.

It will be interesting how these forfeits are figured into League standings and rankings for League tourneys.  I guess an L will be an L.

Hmmm, is that a Q1 W for St. John's?

The forfeit set up was meant to punish teams that didn't have their players vaccinated.  They might now readjust that rule since it appears that omicron might be vaccine resistant.

Very true.  But the way this is exploding today, it might not matter.

i will agree completely with big bill fan that the attitude of this board is pretty one sided when it comes to the chinese flu virus and any discussion.  i say either stop it all or let it all go.
