Correct, both SLU and Xavier recruited him out of HS. He wound up going to Dartmouth despite being a higher-level target because of family connections there. His mom was a 3-time Ivy League POY and All-American back in the day, and she's also a big-time donor and Board of Trustees member there (she's the CEO of Anthem).

Anyway, Boudreaux played his first two seasons there and started every game, then decided to sit out this year while he focused on academics, so he graduated in three seasons and is eligible for two more seasons immediately as a grad transfer. He's a nice get for whoever lands him (Xavier could still be in play if they elevate Steele to HC). I don't know if Louisville will offer, or if Purdue is now the clear frontrunner or what, but I don't see SLU getting in the mix here.

As a follow-up, Boudreaux committed to Purdue today.

since this thread appears to be drifting to recruiting b.s. of all programs not just billikens i assume you all saw this today about bagley from duke:

sickening if true.   btw, since i dont know if the "the spun" is a good source or not, usa today is quoting most of this today as well.

Not sure how you get through the day if this qualifies as "sickening".

Any time the Illini lose a recruiting target it is because someone is getting paid or because of grades.  I know all fan bases have some fans that act like that, but it is how the vast majority of Illini fans act.

I love when Illinois acts like they're not just yet another state school with their "academic standards". Puh-leese.

Highlights from that Kyky Tandy/Detorrian Ware faceoff...couple cutaways show TFord and Calipari in the stands.

SLU showing interest in Ware (#33, red shoes), who appears to be the real deal offensively...hard to see him playing any D.

Couple nice passes from him as well:

More T-Ware highlights, lot of easy baskets but throws a mean tomahawk at the end:

Why does everyone assume that the main reason Ford was at that game was Ware and not Kyky?

Good point, he may well have been there primarily for Kyky.

There was a photo of Ford talking with Ware after the game and SLU has been listed in a couple places as showing interest in him.

I have added both to the recruiting lists. Ford was photographed with Ware, as Venice says, but he also saw Tandy and given his ties to the area, it'd be hard to say he isn't interested.

That said, Tandy says UK is the dream school and he's holding out for that. Who knows, he might have a shot. Louisville was interested before Mack took over, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them come through with an offer.

Omar Silverio is reopening his recruitment after getting his release from Santa Clara. He says "due to some changes there" but the two coaches he cited as his reasons for signing there - Herb Sendek and Julius Hodge - are both still there. Not sure what's up.

He had a SLU offer, along with offers from Dayton, Rhode Island, VCU, UMass, Fordham, USF, Tulsa, and some smaller northeastern schools. He's a guard from St. Raymond's HS in the Bronx. He's got good size - 6-4, 185 after growing a couple inches in the past year - and can really shoot it, too. He made a big jump his senior year, filling it up in the points column.

Might be worth getting back in touch with him.

"Due to some changes" could mean that Halle Berry showed him around campus during his visit but now he knows she's dating the starting running back and he doesn't want to come anymore.

JUCO guard Brandon Mahon dropped SLU from his list, per verbal commits.

Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Auburn. He likes the SEC. Alabama kid, so it's not that surprising. Bummer, though, because he would've been a great fit.

Referencing above: Anthony Mack is a 6-6 freshman from University of Wyoming who sat out this season without ever having seen the court due to recurring concussion issues. According to 24/7 he was a 3 star recruit who had a good deal of interest out of HS. He had offers that included Georgia, Memphis, and Villanova.

Ford recruited him out of high school too.

Courtney Ramey just released his top 10 (lol).

slu ain’t in it. Just in case anyone still hanging onto that hope.

So he had Louisville in his top 10 but they aren't even recruiting him.  Thought it was odd he released a top 10 this late for him anyways.  Mack says it's not a fit and that just seems odd for a top pg.

This should be a warning sign to anyone recruiting these two.  Mack made sure he named them to totally remove Louisville from contention. Louisville is staying away from these two for a reason.  There might be more to drop from the shoe scandal.
