Quality Is Job 1
I don't think anyone expects us to be consistently in the top 10. I think most want nothing more than to be the consistent top 50 program that they were promised many years ago. Did you read that correctly? It says "top of the A10," not "the top 10." TheChosenOne
....can we be a little more constructive and suggest precisely who would take us to the top of the A10? Why are fans responsible for coming up with legitimate candidates to replace Jim Crews? A number of posters on this board don't believe Crews is the answer and if things do not turn around this coming season they (and many more at that point) will likely be expressing their opinion that he should be fired. Ultimately it is up to Chris May to make that decision and then to conduct the search for his replacement, not the fans. Why poke the bear when it seems like everyone has kind of moved on and is just ready to see how the season plays out?

Why poke the bear when it seems like everyone has kind of moved on and is just ready to see how the season plays out? I've said this before but does May get a chance to hire a new HC? If the wheels come off this season, I'd have to think May would be gone along with Crews.
VeniceMenace
Plus, the new coach won't have as many bad habits to un-teach. Come on King, I dare you to step across this line and name one coach who will get SLU to the top of the A10!!!
Billiken Rich
Romo and Bryant out and Piscotty just impaled himself on the worthless Bourjous..... anything happening to the Billikens is small potatoes right now............... Billiken Rich
We will be worried about losing Crews to Indiana before he's fired. This will happen before cyborg Crews takes over for real Crews. Just FYI.............

David King
"You have to be lucky. I mean, we were lucky. You gotta be good. But you gotta be lucky." Jim Crews Actually Coach, when looking at the series of misfortunate events that led to you assuming the role of Head Coach, we were pretty darn unlucky. billikenbill
season over Truth. He showed in the Bahamas that he's an underrated recruit who was going to be a big part of rotation this year. The only hope for a winning season now is no hope.

Cowboy
Per Stu: "@studurando: Other than the loss of freshman Elliott Welmer, SLU is healthy. Agbeko is regaining his conditioning.

Agbeko is regaining his conditioning. If he is 100% healthy why would you hold him out of any practices or drills? That makes absolutely zero sense. brianstl
Today's paper........ “Marcus is 100 percent physically but not doing 100 percent of everything yet. But he’s darn close,” Crews said. “We’ve been very slow on him and I would think he’s close. He’s going to practice, but does he do the whole practice or go three straight days? I’m not sure about that yet.” What the ? http://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/slu-basketball-team-starts-practice/article_595aea58-74c5-5ee7-8fc4-508ec9b0b745.html
Pistol
He's clearly not 100% because then he'd be doing 100% of practice activities. Crews is rounding when convenient. Coaches aren't good at math.

TheChosenOne
Bartley is also younger now this year. In some ways, Pistol and I do still fit in at Hump's for penny pitchers..... I am liking these quotes from Crews (100%, but not fully practicing and the youth comment), makes you really think.
slu72 fan
I think it's pretty routine that a player is cleared by medical to be 100% healed and ready for practice. Yet, the coaches ease that person back into the routine.
