Stu quitting???? NOOO!!!!

Stu was on KMOX tonight.  He implied that there were layoffs/buyout offers at the PD and he had a week to figure out what he wanted to do.  He wanted to keep involved with the Billikens so he quickly developed stuonslu. He says he wants to do this new deep dive into Billiken sports.  He will have more flexibility than with the PD on length of articles and what he can write about. He'll cover men's and women's hoops and both soccer teams at a minimum.

I subscribed.   $5.  Not a big outlay and it will be exclusively SLU material.

Really liking the Substack STU on SLU account.  New article dropped this morning about Robbie potentially playing for the Mexican National team because his grandfather was born there.  Robbie hasnt decided whether he will wait until college is over or potentially represent them in the August 2025 at the AmeriCup in Nicaragua.

Agreed, I think for $45 per calendar year, he may well get a lot of subscribers.

I'm in too.  What I will be following is how Tom Timmermann now covers the Bills and how/if they overlap.  I would assume Stu will have more content than Tom, but hopefully they just won't repeat themselves.

Stu is dropping more material that he did at the PD.  Nice article on Gaebe and the soccer match last night and a new one on McCottry’s development.   I’d rather give my $$ to him directly rather than the PD any day.

Converted my free subscription to the $45 annual today.  Stu was 'teasing' on his free subscription, but rightfully so was now only giving glimpses of the full article on the free view.  WELL worth the money.  You can go monthly for $5 if you so desire.

I swear, this is the last time I am going to say this, but I rarely ever read his work in the Post-Dispatch, and now I am struggling to think of a better University-specific athletics content creator.  His content is crazy good.

My 3 trial gifts are now gone.

Stu is doing great work and I hope he gets enough subscribers to continue his coverage.

We've complained for years about the amount of coverage, we have this site, now we have a podcast, a dedicated Substack (professional journalist), part time SLU enthusiast writing on A10 sites and various other coverage. So it's incumbent on us hard core fans to support those doing good work providing insight on the team we love.

So post, subscribe, buy pickles/salsa and keep the Billiken momentum going.
