Yeah, I don't think of it as a St. Louis thing at all. Which is a little odd, given that we'd celebrate Blues/Cards/City championships despite all or most players coming from elsewhere. And SLU, for that matter. But there's something about HS/prep/AAU where you assume the players are actually from that place. brianstl
Coach314
It's been moving in this direction for years. Teams can lose sponsorship if they don't have good years. So they go after the top talent.
Brighton
eh, I consider it a STL title. We already have a championship in each of the four major sports, so a semi amateur one doesn't hurt.
Pistol
Colin Rice - SF, 6-8, 195 - Waukee, IA (Northwest) - AAU: Martin Brothers (Under Armour Association) - Twitter: @colinlrice Offers: Saint Louis, Drake, Northern Iowa, Murray State, North Dakota State. Interest: Nebraska, Iowa, Belmont, Cleveland State, Chattanooga, East Tennessee State, Omaha, UMBC. Latest News: Rice received an offer on his visit to SLU. (9/6/24) Scouting Report: Rice is a skilled wing with three level scoring ability. He's efficient from outside, especially lethal off the catch. He's an effective player in transition and gets to the rim with ease. He's an excellent passer for his size. He can put it on the floor, too - he loves to lure defenders out to the perimeter and then beat them off the dribble. He has the length and smarts to defend well. Pistol
Rice plays HS ball with Landon Davis, another D-I recruit (Drake offer). Ben McCollum's sons play there, as well, so Drake is going to be around Rice a lot (McCollum's older son is a senior with lower division offers and his other son is a sophomore). Pistol
21 hours ago, SLURadioBoy said: Added to the interest list: Jaxon Clark - PF/C, 6-10, 255 - Keokuk, IA (Keokuk) - AAU: MidPro Academy - Twitter@jaxonclark_ Offers: None. Interest: Saint Louis, Duquesne, Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Bradley, Illinois State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Miami-Ohio, Austin Peay, Southeast Missouri. Latest News: SLU was out to see Clark on 10/1. (10/2/24) Scouting Report: Clark is a big, strong frontcourt with a well developed game for his age. He can step out and shoot from 3. He has soft touch and a smooth release. He's an excellent passer out of the high and low post. He's a powerful rebounder, especially on the offensive glass. He demonstrates impressive footwork and mobility. He's a smart, patient player with great feel. -The staff is looking for young, next generation Robbie Avilas. This kid has that potential. Finally started to get some attention with a nice AAU season for MidPro, but I'm surprised no one has offered yet. Quick note on the 2026 interest list: I did a full refresh on all other sections of the Recruiting Lists page except the 2026 interests. The list has everyone the staff reached out to on 6/15 (that I could verify, anyway) when the period opened for this class. However, not all of them have follows from at least one staff member. I'm giving it a little time to see who emerges as real interests and who may have just been a one-off contact. thatskablamo and majerus mojo
Pistol
New offer: Jacob Webber - SF, 6-6, 175 - Kearney, NE (Kearney) - AAU: ETG Midwest (Adidas 3SSB) - Twitter: @Jdub3webb Offers: Saint Louis, Creighton, Iowa, Washington, California, Drake, Illinois-Chicago, Ohio, Canisius, Omaha. Interest: Purdue, Penn State, Nebraska, South Carolina, Wake Forest, Clemson, Notre Dame, Iowa State, Colorado, Colorado State, Wyoming, Belmont, Indiana State, Bowling Green, Purdue-Fort Wayne, Appalachian State, South Dakota State, South Dakota, Idaho State. Latest News: Webber received an offer from SLU. (10/4/24) Scouting Report: Webber is a big wing who shoots with high volume and efficiency. He has a quick trigger and a high release on his shot, which he can also shoot off a high catch like Gibson Jimerson. He's a good passer and finisher with nice positional size and length. He's fearless, competitive, and hard working. Webber transferred from Scottsdale Christian Academy in Arizona to Kearney HS in Nebraska for his sophomore year. Rankings: On3 - 102, On3 Industry - 173, 247Sports - 140, 247Sports Composite - 121. -I had the profile mostly built already because SLU contacted him back on 6/15, when the period opened up for this class. Since then, he added 6-7 offers. He played up a level on the 3SSB circuit this AAU season and shot almost 40% from 3 on 9.6 attempts per game. That's a huge 3PA figure for AAU. I like this player a lot. Creighton might be the team to beat at this stage; the whole staff was out to see him recently and their offer is his pinned tweet. They're not exactly local - Kearney is 185 miles west of Omaha - but certainly have the in-state advantage, as well. Nebraska is also recruiting him but hasn't offered. Interest: VCU, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Xavier, DePaul, Purdue, Boston College, Colorado, Penn, Holy Cross, Iona, Fairfield, Marist, Canisius, Appalachian State, Arkansas State, UMBC. Latest News: Bellot received an offer from SLU. (10/6/24) Scouting Report: Bellot is an effective three-level scorer who thrives in transition. He's a dog defensively, using his long arms and high-level instincts to create steals and start fast breaks. He's crafty with the ball, handles it well, changes speeds and directions fluidly, and finishes in a variety of ways. He has the ability to heat up from outside but has an unorthodox shooting form. Jaxson Terry - G/F, 6-6, 190 - Boston, MA (Cambridge Arts, Technology, & Sciences) - AAU: Expressions Elite (Nike EYBL) - Twitter: @TerryJaxson Offers: Saint Louis, Rhode Island, George Washington, Xavier, Providence, Boston, Old Dominion, Albany. He understands how to use his body to his advantage and is relentless attacking the rim. He thrives in transition. He's a lockdown defender. Townsend transferred to PSA from Marion HS for his senior year, originally committed to Kent State as a 2025 prospect but decided to decommit, reclassify to 2026, and reopen his recruitment. He recently got an offer from Northern Iowa, and that is his top offer. He's a big guard who can play the 1 or 2. He can really shoot it but is also a nice playmaker with the ball. The best guard in his class in the state. With his size he seems like a no brainer for interest from Schertz.
