Tony Brown played during the Grawer era—that could be a major factor in snagging this phenom!

Brown was one of my favorites.   Mid-sized forward from Florida, not much of shooter, but he was kind of a human bowling ball.   He was a sophomore on the first BIlliken team I followed closely.   In 1985-86, we had Roder and Pee Wee as guards and freshmen stars Gray and Douglass.   Loved that team.

I remember hearing that Tony Brown's high school did not have a gym his senior year, due to some fire or something.  They practiced outside, and played all away games.

Any athletic 6'7 wing player will get looks locally.  But right now he's a long-term play.  His potential hasn't really translated to the court yet.

For some context, Principia is the breakout team and Quentin Coleman is the breakout star of this season.  Principia is led by Coleman and two 2027 players, 6-9 Sekou Cisse and 6-3 Gassim Toure.  Coleman is Principia's leading scorer, rebounder and second leading assist man.  He dismantled a talented John Burroughs squad on Friday - breaking them down off the dribble, lighting them up from three, even dunking on one of their big men.  Principia is 25-1 on the season.
