Brighton Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I’m familiar with that Playhard fellow. He, like most from the KC region, has an inferiority complex for St. Louis. Quote
CBFan Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 After the game, Poach coach tried to call Jordan Nesbitt to see how strong his commitment to SLU is. The Roos coach visits MU’s locker room to talk about the karma of a coach poaching players and to hang in there they will have a new coach soon. Lorenzo Romar called his old friend to tell him karma’s a B. Quote

After May 1, 2022 his buyout is $6 million and then it drops to $3 million after May 1, 2023. The contract is over May 1, 2024. That's absolutely brutal. I can't imagine them paying his $6 million to walk on May 1, 2022, but maybe they do if he sucks bad enough. The especially brutal part is that most May 1 is pretty late in the game to be looking for / hiring a new coach. Majerus was hired April 27 and it seemed super late. Ford was hired March 30. Martin was hired March 15 which is part of the reason he was able to put together a good class his 1st year. By May 1, you're really behind on recruiting for the upcoming year. The transfer portal has changed that a bit, but the a new Mizzou coach would be behind the 8 ball from day 1. Quote

A return to the Kim Anderson era is not what I expected from them but here we are. slufanskip 1 Quote

There's a lot of pressure on high major coaches to sign scoring point guards, preferably with size. Yuri was 5'11 when we got his commitment and averaged 5 ppg in AAU. He averaged 5 ppg his first two years here. The beauty of mid-majors is there is time for specialists to fill in the holes in their games. Quote
