I agree - it looks better on merch and it shows up WAY better on the graphics that are used online, for TV highlights, etc.  And just anecdotally, kids seem to like it - I've seen way more kids wearing SLU gear in the last few years.

Roll bills is actually a thing with a lot of younger alumni. Way more than team blue.

SLU athletics is like the clothing area at Costco…. For a split second you think its something, but then you soon realize it’s nothing.

Chris May might be the luckiest guy in the world. Only slu would hire and keep such an arrogant, wanna be, coat tail riding, nerd like him all these years. I blame BoT who listen and believe all his bs excuses and stories over the years. It’s amazing how some, even on this board defend the guy like he’s been SLU’s savior. He’s only stayed at slu bc nobody else would hire him! Trust me he’s tried getting out several times and is stuck at SLU. They have no clue as well. I was with a few people that know May from when their kids went to school together at Ladue….said he is so arrogant and a big time name dropper. I’m telling you it’s all lining up. This is what happens when bullied nerds get in positions of power.

I am sure May had a hand in the BE matter but I know from talking to another Jesuit President that Biondi was hated among them all.  The guy at Creighton was well liked.  I was told the Presidents simply were not that interested in having to deal with Biondi.  I also have not been that impressed with May's hiring record overall.

I like Ford, I want him to be the guy but I understand he might not be.  This however is hard to blame him for.  Your best player has an off game on the road against a team with a pulse you will not win.  Ford didn't go 1-8 last night.

FC Cincinnati has acquired former Billiken Kipp Keller via trade. And they have signed him to a 1st team deal. Kipp played at the same youth club team as FC Cincinnati Head Coach Pat Noonan. FC Cincinnati was one of the best teams in MLS this season, and, they made the Eastern Conference Playoff Final:

Well and the fact that SLU did nothing that made him eligible. A couple other schools sued the NCAA and it opened the floodgates.

Medley, Jimerson, and Eze played really well together.
Having one (1) legit big with experience does appear to be making a difference

Goodwin's minutes will fluctuate based on his own shooting form, the matchups and the overall health/depth of the Suns, but he has certainly done the most with the opportunities he's been given and has really established himself as key role player who impacts games with his relentless effort.

Goodwin played 30 minutes in the Suns win over the Warriors, 16 points, 5-10 FG, 5-5 FT, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, 1 turnover and made a steal/hustle/pass that led to a Booker reverse dunk that was the play of the game.

Just a few notes about Jordan Goodwin's season, thus far:
    * Averaging 6.3 points per game
    * Averaging 17.1 minutes per game
    * Assist/turnover ratio is 2.7 (3rd best on Suns)
    * Averaging 3.8 rebounds per game (7th on Suns despite the fact that he's 11th in minutes played)
    * 5th on the Suns in steals per game
    * One of only three players to play in all 20 of the Suns games this season

Because the recruiting effort was the equivalent of gift shopping at Walgreens on Christmas Day. You forgot or the other stuff didn't come in the mail in time so you have to get what ya can before you drive to Grandma's house.
We took what we could get when the Primary and Secondary targets didn't work out.

This will be my last comment on the Travis/Covid issue.   The administration did not suspend or fire Travis at the time because they clearly didn't think he did anything to warrant.      So why this continues to be an issue is perplexing
Many college teams in all sports had games cancelled/players ruled ineligible due to Covid.   SLU was not an outlier.   You can believe otherwise,  I don't have the time or interest to pull data on games lost/postponed/rescheduled due to Covid, but I have a pretty good memory and know it was a lot.   We can agree to disagree.   No school that I can recall took action against a coach for not locking down their team more diligently.  A vast majority of college athletes who tested positive had little or no symptoms.   You can believe otherwise.  We can agree to disagree.   If we had a player or two with lingering symptoms, that's a bummer.  So was Fred Thatch's issue.  So was Sincere Parker's foot.
Do you realize Covid is still out there?   Why the heck aren't we all in a bubble?   Every day could be a potential "super spreader"
If this season finishes like it appears to be trending, then I think the administration should seriously consider making a coaching change.   For the unhappy fanbase to blame him for Covid outbreaks is a really bad look.    Roster construction/underperformance/lack of player development given his current salary are MUCH better arguments to make.

Slightly off topic, but a silent majority remains a thing that doesn’t exist. One of the dumbest phrases to enter the cultural lexicon in recent years.

In the Post today, Ford said that he has had to dramatically change his approach this year more so than any other year.  He said he likes to run and press but with only 8 healthy players he has had to slow the game down.  Now this actually makes sense except this is what he has done every year here usually because he settles on 8 players even if he has a healthy roster.  The problem is a con only works once or twice with the same people but when you trot out the same old excuses people can see through it - that is where he is at now, we are tired of the same old excuses.  At least have the courtesy to give us a some new excuse.  As an old boss told me once he can accept a foul up by an employee but at least have the decency to blow a different color smoke up his shorts.

Meh, I don’t have a problem with what he said. What’s he suppose to say?
There are a billion reasons I want Ford out of here but that quote doesn’t make my list.

So kind of you to post this.  The Wendel Family is honored and humbled by the decision and actions undertaken to establish the scholarship.  A fellow SLU alumnus, big Billiken fan, and follower of Billikens.com, Bob Steck, deserves all the credit for this.  Bob provided the seed money to establish the scholarship and has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, with the help of Meg Connolly in the Alumni Development Office, to make this happen.
Early in his academic career, Dad worked the scorekeeper's table at the Billiken games at Kiel Auditorium.  He'd drag his 4 young sons to the games (to give Mom a break).  We'd run around the halls and ramps of Kiel while he worked the games.  Still have great memories of Joe Wiley, Harry Rogers, Monroe Douglas, Anthony Bonner, and so many other Billiken players from that era.  They will never fully appreciate the joy and excitement they brought to my life, and so many other kids my age.  I still remember some of the last games at Kiel.  When the fans would get going, and start stomping their feet, that place would rock.  Great memories.  I'm not sure exactly when Dad stopped working the scorer's table and had to buy tickets to get into the games, but he held season tickets every year after that.  As Willie mentioned, besides the City of St. Louis, one of his loves in life was Biiliken basketball.  He passed that on to his kids.  Next week I'm helping my daughter, her husband, and their three boys move from Chicago to St. Louis.  We hope to pass on that love of Billiken basketball to another Wendel generation.
The Wendel Family hopes that the scholarship helps a SLU student who is committed to helping the City of St. Louis be the best that it can be.  If you give to SLU, we hope you'll consider giving to the scholarship fund.
    Go Bills!
