OkieBilliken Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 Southern Indiana game cancelled today. I guess 20 degree wind chill isn't conducive for baseball. Quote

OkieBilliken Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 SLU getting smoked at home by SEMO 8-1. Conference season starts this weekend at home. Mandatory that they get off to a good start this weekend vs St. Joe's who are 5-10 and not picked to contend this season Quote
OkieBilliken Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Dayton doesn't video stream their baseball games. Just when I thought I couldnt hate Dayton more than I already do............. Quote

OkieBilliken Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 Good day yesterday for baseball. Beating Dayton was good. Richmond who was 19-2 and 3-0 in conference lost to St Joe’s, the team SLU played last weekend. At least a split in the DH today would be nice. Quote

Sweep would have been nice but St. Joseph’s beat Richmond again. Richmond is the heavy favorite to win the conference but now have at least two losses to the team a team we won our series with. Four teams in conference are 4-1, but the only one I think has a chance of winning it all is Mason. The most shocking conference result so far is perennial contender VCU is 4-18 and 0-5 in conference play. Dayton and VCU lost head coaches last year and had massive roster churn. Quote
OkieBilliken Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 Anyone close to the baseball program know anything about Hayden Moore’s injury. He was DHing this weekend vs Dayton which was weird since he is very good outfielder. He isn’t in the lineup today vs Butler. Also anyone know what happened to JT Crabbe. He was an our starting catcher for the first week and looked like he could really hit. He hasn’t played since and we have been rotating two catchers, neither of which are hitting well. They moved Chase Beattie to catcher today, which is definitely not his true position. That dude can hit but not sure this is a great for our suspect pitching. Quote

I’m not sure of the streaming situation at Dayton but they have streamed about 4 home games this season. (3 vs Bradley and 1 vs Bryant) Mendez (A10 Rookie of the year) has been mostly a defensive replacement so far at a variety of positions as a utility player in the SEC. Fennell has been deep on the relief bench but he did get a spot start in the SEC, in which he did well 3,2 innings, 2 runs, 8k’s. They both went with King. Quote
billikenbill Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Bills win a wild one vs SBU 10-9 in 10. SBU scored 4 in the top of the 10th and the Bills rallied back to score 5 to win it. Stressler had the game winning hit!! Pistol 1 Quote

Bona scored 4 in the Top 10 and were convinced they added 2 more with a 2-run HR that was called foul. That Bottom 10 was pure insanity. This conference is NUTS. Preseason heavy favorite Richmond who had several non-conference wins is 4-5. Fordham leads at 7-2. We are in a 3 way tie for 2nd at 6-3. Not bad at all. Quote

Why does it always seem that the wind is blowing about 25mph at home games? Odd. Seems like a pressbox would be a great idea. Its nice to see FOUR Billikens in affiliated baseball this minor league season. Outfielder Pat Clohisy will play for the High A Rome Emperors, a Braves affiliate. Evan Gray and Cam Pferrer will be teammates on the Low A San Jose Giants. They were a year apart at SLU but will both pitch for this San Francisco affiliate. Ethan Bell will be pitching for the Cubs Complex League team in Arizona, the lowest level of the minors. Both Pferrer and Clohisy did well in their short stints at the end of last year. This spring has been particularly windy for whatever reason. Fortunately, it looks like the team is out of town this weekend, because it sounds like it's supposed to rain nonstop for the next few days. Quote
