Looking at the roster

Ezewiro- Torrence

Meadows- Hollywood

Nokes-Palisides Park( Beverly Hills)

Top 3 for Williford

Does this look like a Romar built roster?

This is likely a reach for a California pipeline.  Ford needed a center, and not a ton of schools are looking for a 2 time transfer with low production.  MM is mainly just because of his dad knowing Ford from Kentucky days. Isn't williford a vegas guy too?

It’s a major reach. Pipelines are high school or juco things, not transfer things. And they usually don’t include walkons.

I think targeting certain players from California only makes sense with Harriman on the staff.  We all think of international recruiting when we think of Harriman, but at both New Mexico and at Cal (of course) recruiting California is a big part of the job for any assistant. He has relationships with many of the people on the high school and AAU scene throughout the state.  If we have some NIL funds to direct to HS recruiting, that can be an enticement to come to the Midwest.

Now start a home and home with a WCC school or two like USF, LMU  and Santa Clara next year.  We should be doing that even if California isn't a recruiting focus.

Also, the west coast no longer has a Power 5 conference that kids can go to and know that most of their games will be played in their own time zone.  This may make kids from that side of the country more likely than in the past to consider a school in the Midwest.

So then they will simply attend a Power 5 Midwest school
