moytoy12
I think Jim Crews should get a step ladder and a tape and have the boys take the measure of the place. And put Lepak on DE's shoulders.
jimbofive
The Bills will/should be motivated. I can see winning on Friday busting us into the Top Twenty Five somewhere in the mid-teens. It gotdamn should. Beat the #9 team and the #15 team, you should be at least ranked where they were the second time you beat them. In a place they've never played against a team that has it in for them with the wind at their backs and adversity in their face, they're between a rock and a hard place at a time when they can't help but succeed if everything goes their way and disaster doesn't strike. Basketbill
We had a great win last night. Nationally however, Indiana Beat Michigan State on the Road and FLorida was upset by Mizzou...The highlights on ESPN that I saw, talked about Butler handling Duquesne and VCU losing....it was almost as if they had not lost to the team that passed them in the standings, barely a mention of SLU excpet that we take on Butler next....We need a few more wins to open eyes. Then do something in the Dance, Final Four would be nice.

That'd get some tongues wagging.......

prebilliken
Stevens was on my favorite National radio show today, SVP and Russillo doesn't go into the match up to much, but is steady with his praise. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=8967608 Segment is about 8 minutes. He could be pumping up his team, but I think he really does respect the Bills.
Taj79
That's our plight .... until we have ongoing, sustained success (ala Butler, Gonzaga and Xavier), no one will remember our name. We will continue to see the lack of respect long before we have respect. Hell, we should be able to sustain a loss in Indy and still get ranked. But we won't. bbtds
Didn't he start his career at Eli Lilly before becoming a coach? Isn't that big pharma?Isn't Dr. Chaifetz in big pharma (ComPsych)? I think Brad Stevens is lobbying... This is an interview of Brad Stevens while he was a senior on the basketball team at D-III DePauw in 1999, 14 years ago. He was a top notch individual then. And a coach in the making.
brianstl
stevens is doing his best impersonation of the hoodie. just flatter your opponent to death. It is more than just flattering your next opponent and trying to fire up your team. Stevens started this stuff over 2 weeks ago. A dumb move if you if your goal is to fire up your team. The only that would accomplish is taking your team's focus off their next opponents. Steven's is smarter than that.
rudymcgowern
Lol a team with experience of beating teams and making it to two championship games doesn't need firing up ... The culture is instilled. It logical and it's exactly the same way Majerus was at other schools.

moytoy12
This one will be a little tougher battle than the game at the Fetz. 1. I won't be there. 2. Hinkle homecooking is sure to be in effect. For these reasons, i'm lowering my prediction from the last game. Instead of a 30-point SLU win it will be a 22-point SLU win. rudymcgowern
It's obvious any team needs to not take SLU for granted at SLU home event if the opponent is ranked. The difference is this The thing about this game is that Saint Louis is going to be MORE flustered than they were at the 'Fetz. Saint Louis has yet to play a tough road game all year. They played ONE non-conference road game, which they lost to 14-13 Washington. Their toughest A-10 road game was at Temple, which they lost. They have had a cake A-10 schedule so far - my guess is they lose Friday, and at Xavier in a few weeks. The double digit win predictions on your board are hysterical too. In Saint Louis' six road games this year, only three have been by double digits (Saint Bonaventure, Fordham, and Richmond). Those are three garbage basketball teams. Do you really think you will stroll into Hinkle Fieldhouse, where Brad Stevens has an 82-12 record, and win by double digits? It has only happened twice since Stevens became head coach. Saint Louis is no where near the caliber of the two teams that did it. Remember when you analyze your team be the devils advocate... Look at the full body of work... Butler has beaten two potential 1 seeds and 3 other teams who have been ranked.
