We can be a lot better and deeper. However, what could make us a lock type team would be Has adding more weapons to his game. Notably a short jumper and getting his FT% into the 60% range. He's pretty one dimensional at this point. Yes, Jimerson opens things up for him, but that can't be counted on every night or he gets injured. Not only would expanding his game be good for the team, but  better for him as well.

We were 5-7 from 3 in the first half kicking the ball out to wide open 3’s every time, and than we just abandon the 3 point game in the second half.

MBM'ers talking about the key factors in tonight's game brings to mind the Dr. Frank Ryan quote when he was quarterback for the Cleveland Browns against my NY Giants so many moons ago. Chris Schenkel, announcer, asked Dr. Frank what would be the biggest factor in the game; Dr. Frank:"The final score" .  He went on to get his PHD in Mathematics.

I will be very happy if SLU wins tonight. This is going to be a battle and I’m not confident in a victory at all. Will be super hyped for Friday if SLU pulls it out

No matter what happens Re the dance, we should have no complaints about this team. They have over achieved from what we thought back in October. Yes, if we don't make it we'll be disappointing,  but we've really got nothing to whine about.
Right now it's one game at a time, and UMass won't be an easy game.

I re-ran Jacobs dunk about 10 times. That was an amazing NBA style in your face JAM! Someone earlier pointed out it was a great move. It was an Air Jordan move! Travis should highlight this with him and  say, do you realize how good you are? He brought the ball down like he was going to do the layup, D went for it, and then he JAMS it home in the blink of an eye. I'm listing that as one of the great Billiken JAMS of all time. He was a killer with that move. Please, wake up, Darius, and bring that shite every game!

One observation: Jimmy has to get a lot more aggressive on putbacks and layups. Like, JAM TIME, Jimmy! No reason a 6'10" guy should be missing bunnies. At least he made the FT's. Also, I think he may have a mid range game lurking in that locomotive somewhere. His form on FTs is pure.

Moytoy, I think you've been scratched from Gus' XMAS card list too.

He does. Once he learns that he's got to play with JGood's motor, he could be special.
Surprised Rammer didn't get more excited about Yurimania's assist on Perkins dunk. The NBC team ooohed and aaaahed over it, as Yurimania was not looking at Perkins.

I don't know if Jimmy can ever be the shooter Loe was, but his form on FTs looks smooth. Can he turn that into a mid range jumper? Obviously, he's not got a great vertical, or at least he's not shown it. Get him some weighted sneaks to practice in.
Again, I'll raise the issue that Has should work on a short jumper. So obvious when he gets the ball 10-15' from the hoop the defender(s) know he's gonna try to get it to 2-3' for a little flip shot or a slam and they back up. They leave him virtually wide open for a jumper.

@ChapleyMedia   I don’t know anything about the status of Fred Thatch Jr. But I do know that this is the first practice in a LONG time I’ve seen him go through a full warmup with the team. He usually gets going by himself and jumps in/out when ready. This seems like a positive sign.

Speculation at this point is really a moot exercise. Let's just wait and see what the Med Staff comes up with. I'm sure he's hoping to play again, as we all are, but right now the most important thing is getting him healthy so he can live a long life regardless of whether he's BB ready or not. He'll be missed if he doesn't play another minute for us, but everything now should be getting him ready for living a full life.
