  1. wiz, by chance, your computer isnt named "HAL" is it?
  2. It's a done deal. My wife works with Mya's mom. Mya is a billiken
  3. I love imo's. Except for peel, I don't want crust. Peel is the exception. Best pizza crust in the world.
  4. i havent seen it mentioned yet, but it is my understanding mya glanton from Indiana State who went to East Louis High School will transfer to SLU. i believe she has one remaining year of eligibility.
  5. watching indiana state in the NIT, i got the impression shertz was all about scoring and dared his opponent to outscore them. defense was secondary. this is the one aspect of shertz that concerns me. but i remember a billiken club meeting with soderberg where he said, he valued defense first and offense was secondary. this his offense slowed down the pace. i got the impression it was an effort to "rest" his team. i didnt like that at all. before i die, i want to see a billiken team that goes all out on both ends. it can be done. plenty of teams play hard on both ends. remember the Huggins cincy teams in our Conference USA days. our how about shaka's VCU teams playing Havoc defense and their defense would lead to fast break opportunities. of course there was the tark UNLV days, or the Loyola Marymount days. it can be done. and if it comes together, it will be glorious and Chaifetz will become the hottest sports ticket in St. Louis.
  6. this one is intriguing. 6'7" point guard. at one time manuel was a major high school power. i dont hear as much anymore about them, but they are still a large high school.
  7. i said early in the season vogel was a fail. they are only in the playoff because they have 3 of the top players in the league. vogel did all he could to F that up but they somewhat overcame his incompetence.
  8. not just building a roster with sheer talent. looking for chemistry.
  9. while if anyone was made for hero ball it was sincere parker. that said, hero ball and schertz 5 out do not mix. one or the other had to go likely is my thought. good luck to parker. i am betting at mcneese he will be a star. good for him.
  10. I personally think with the Schertz offense I watched in the NIT, we don't need a pure point guard. They get out and run and everyone is moving even in the half court. Assuming Schertz will try to implement the same offense we need speed and shooters. A lot of dribbling is a fail. All need vision and passing skills and unselfish attitudes.
  11. with her new endorsement deals (reportedly signing a huge nike deal this week) as well as still having her state farm deal as well as other endorsements from last year all renewed, Caitlin will have more direct deposits this year than last. her WNBA contract is just something to do.
  12. colleges should always be in the business of education first and foremost. they have no business running a professional sports franchise and giving the athletes (notice i didnt say student athletes) money with no emphisis on education. if the athletes want to play their sport for a career, fine go to a minor league otherwise get in the classroom and earn a diploma.
  13. I noticed during games that Tate was the coach that seemed to be the guy to have a player come and sit next to him when he came out of the game after ford did one of his famous yanks. Imo having that guy there is pretty important.
  14. Great post cgeldmacher. I've been preaching for years if some booster wants to throw fortunes and cars, even houses at kids I don't care. But if this is college they should be college kids. They should qualify to get enrolled like any other college student. They should attend classes and pass and be able to prove they are on pace to graduated in their 5 years of eligibility. The NCAA should put 100% of their police work into this. If the players don't want to be students, let them go pro. Colleges should not be the NBA and the NFL minor leagues And I'm betting it would not take anything away from the fan experience. The competition would still be there.
