Jimerson makes Atlantic 10 first team, Avila gets second team and Swope third

That's how I would rank them.

That 3 game slump did Avila in .... moved him to 2nd team.

Great honor for Jimerson.  He made a helluva push the last two weeks of the season to elevate his status and I'm glad to see him recognized.  If Avila wasn't so inconsistent during that same period, he's on the first team instead of Bailey.

-nice individual recognition, congrats guys

-not to be Bonnie Buzzkill, SVU is seeded two spots ahead of us and is represented on the 2nd and 3rd team, not sure what, if anything, that is indicating

Avila is indeed a great player, however he needs a lot of support from a team that is well attuned to play with him. This support was lacking for a good part of the year because of various reasons. Jimerson played  better than Avila this year. However, the team has played better, with more cohesion, by the end of the season. I think if we can beat VCU we might just be able to win the A10 tournament. If we lose against VCU we may not go anywhere after the A10 tournament. And, if we beat VCU but lose the championship game we might, just might, go at large to the Dance or go to NIT. This is just my opinion, it is not based upon facts or stats, just on the way I think it will go.

We have to win the tourney to make the dance. 3 wins might get an NIT bid, but no guarantee.

I think all that tells us is that depth is important.

3 wins means we will beat VCU, or whoever else manages to beat VCU ahead of us, that will get us to the championship game. The key for us is to be able to beat VCU.

Nah. I think it means having 8-10 good players is more important than having 3 really good players.

It just me, or is it odd that most of the teams have 6 rather than 5 players

They have been doing that for a few years now.
