Game time is 7 p.m. The Billikens are in a stretch where they are playing three games in six days. The games against Quinnipiac and UMass Lowell are part of the 314 Classic, a three-team, round-robin multiple-team event (MTE). Quinnipiac and UMass Lowell played Saturday in Massachusetts, with UMass Lowell coming out on top 80-70. FOLLOWING THE ACTION Wednesday's game will be streamed on ESPN+. The game will not be televised. KMOX 1120 AM is the home for Billiken Basketball on the radio. Billiken Hall of Famers and longtime SLU men's basketball radio partners Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. will the call the action for all SLU games, both at home and on the road. Ramsey is in his 39th season calling SLU games, while Austin is in year No. 34. A special congratulations to Earl Austin Jr. and radio engineer Jim Jackson for their induction into the Missouris Sports Hall of Fame. In addition to calling SLU games, Austin is a respected journalist with the St. Louis American newspaper who has impacted thousands of high school athletes with his story-telling. He also played college basketball at Lindenwood and became the program's all-time leading scorer and rebounder before graduating in 1986. Jackson is the engineer for all Billiken home radio broadcasts and coaches shows. He holds similar roles with the Cardinals radio network and visiting NHL teams. Austin and Jackson were honored Sunday in a ceremony at the Chase Park Plaza. BILLIKEN NOTABLES The Billikens enter Wednesday's matchup against UMass Lowell with a 3-2 overall record, which includes a 3-0 mark in home games at Chaifetz Arena. Gibson Jimerson scores 18.8 ppg and is 22nd in the NCAA in 3-pointers made per game (3.6). He is second all-time at SLU with 1,916 career points, 57 points away from the school record (1,972) held by Billiken great Anthony Bonner. Isaiah Swope tied a career high with 30 points in the Billikens' win Monday against Quinnipiac. He also dished out a team-best six assists and leads SLU with 5.0 assists per game. Kalu Anya recorded his first double-double as a Billiken and the seventh of his career with 12 points and a career-high 18 rebounds against Quinnipiac. Through games of Nov. 25, Anya is second in the NCAA in rebounds per game (11.8). Robbie Avila returned to the Billiken lineup for the first time since leaving the season opener against Santa Clara with an ankle injury. He played 30 minutes against Quinnipiac in his return and had 14 points, six rebounds and two assists. The Billikens are tops in the A-10 in 3-pointers made per game (10.6, 27th in NCAA) and 3-pointers attempted per game (32.4, 10th in NCAA). Head coach Josh Schertz is in his first season at SLU. His .785 winning percentage ranks No. 8 among active coaches across all three NCAA divisions. Next up for SLU is a home date against Jackson State on Monday, Dec. 2, at Chaifetz Arena. ABOUT THE RIVER HAWKS UMass Lowell (Lowell, Mass.) plays in the America East Conference. The River Hawks enter Wednesday's game with a 5-2 record and have won three in a row. Their two losses came at No. 4 Gonzaga, 113-54, and at Washington, a five-point defeat against the Huskies in Seattle. The River Hawks were picked second in the America East preseason poll. They were the AE runner-up in each of the last two seasons, falling to Vermont in the championship game both times. UMass Lowell has gone a combined 48-18 in each of the last two seasons. Guard Quinton Mincey leads the River Hawks in scoring with 17.4 ppg. He dropped 31 points two games ago against Quinnipiac on 13-of-23 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Max Brooks scores 13.1 ppg and pulls down a team-high 9.4 rpg. Yuri Covington (12.6 ppg) and Martin Somerville (11.6 ppg) also score in double figures for UMass Lowell. The River Hawks have a knack for getting to the line. They are 15th in the NCAA with 28.7 attempts and make 22.1 free throws per game, which ranks sixth nationally. Head coach Pat Duquette is in his 12th season at UMass Lowell with a 163-175 record. Duquette came to UMass Lowell following three years as the associate head coach to Bill Coen at Northeastern, which followed 13 years as an assistant/associate head coach to Al Skinner at Boston College.
