Bummer of a day but this team has a ton of heart.   Fought like hell nearly overcoming several deficits in Game 1.   Pitching fell apart in Game 2.   SeLa is really good.  One of the toughest we will play all year in a hostile environment.   Very little chance they are going to play today.  It’s going to rain all day.  They are staying here, and will play Tulane Monday night.

Pitching was the issue in both games...we scored 8 runs in both of them and lost.  We had more hits in both games and lost.  The offense continues to be one of the most productive in the country.

In the first game we had 5 pitchers throw a combined 143 pitches.  Continually behind in counts early allowing SeLA to tee off on pitches served down the pipe late in counts.  Two of those pitchers had a combined 1 out before being pulled.

In the second game we allowed a stunning 10 walks, and 189 pitches thrown between 4 pitchers.

The system being used to deliver pitch calls to the team is a clumsy impediment, and SeLA had a vastly better mound presence with tempo and pitch selection.

Either SLU social media is hilariously inept, or they're playing 4th level chess when they post a picture involving an arm brace:

You either have good seats or a good camera. Possibly both.

Front row.   Ordered them the day they became available on the Tulane website.    It’s damn chilly tonight.   Not a ton of people here.

They actually got ushers checking tickets?

Nah.   It’s way too cold for that nonsense.  My wife looked at the forecast and opted to stay in the hotel.

Anyone at the game today? Still going?

7-2 Cincy middle 6th.

Cant hit a curveball.  We keep calling for fastballs to lefties looking to hit it out with a wind blowing to RF… and they can hit.

Does anyone know if Tommy Ray is hurt.  He was our best pitcher but didn’t pitch in Louisiana last weekend or this week. We need him!

He’s hurt, but not sure of extent.
DH has made a couple of quick pulls in recent games… maybe to conserve arms as conference comes around.

The pitch armbands are a travesty… multiple have to be swapped every game, calls are missed, and the clock ticks in the meantime.  Nuances a catcher can have with a pitcher are lost also… absolutely cost a couple runs early today.

The over/under on HBP tomorrow could be interesting… game got away from SLU late today, and in the 9th the douchebag Cincinnati coach had his player steal home against 3rd string catcher and a pitcher that had zero time prior to today.

Between that and the club-softball dugout chants from Cincy, DH had enough and ripped into them.

I can only imagine the verbal abuse that team is going to experience in OK and TX Big-12 games… SLU fans are 10x more polite and quiet compared to what they’ll experience on the road very soon.

Moore is back tomorrow after his ejection for the same HR bat flip I saw multiple times in game highlights last night.

Texas fans are nice. But I doubt they pull that BS in ATX.  Now OU/TTU they won't be nice.

Yeah I heard him say, "GTFO with your mf'r cheer leading a$$"

That’s Spring baseball (and softball) for you. Last second schedule changes all the time. Works both ways, the rain should be over here by morning, maybe they can work out another game with SIUE or Lindenwood or something.

Watching the game yesterday - terrible news about Hayden Moore.  He is our leadoff hitter and offense generator apparently out for at least a month at the start of the conference season, with our 1/2 starting pitcher Tommy Ray also still out.  Not sure what Moore's injury is.  He was hit by a pitch twice on Sunday by that Cincinnati scum. Ugh.

Now we'll see how they handle this adversity rough patch of games and injuries.  If they step up they can survive this stretch.
