billikenfan05 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 This makes 4 threads on the front page about a former Billiken coach. That’s something. Quote
Lando Griffin Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I didn’t even know they were doing the CBI this year. Quote

I will say, it would make sense for teams that did not get to play good chunks of their schedule. Think of these less as postseason play and more of an MTE. Quote
billikenbill Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Modified version of the CBI this year. 8 teams only and no best of three series in the final. Quote

People want to get their panties in a bunch over losing a NIT game, but I am totally fine not hanging a “2021 69th Best Team” banner at Chaifetz BilliesBy40 1 Quote
almaman Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 there may be such a banner @ those covid infested spring breaks down south. Quote

Would have thought he be coaching at some nowheresville community college or selling Kias at a dealership in Ocala, Florida. Quite the contrary. Reading some of the clippings Ekker had a pretty active post-SLU basketball career. Coached at several Continental and USBL clubs. Was a advisor and assistant coach with the Magic. Opened a basketball school with branches in China. Also wrote several books on his coaching philosphy. In fairness to Ekker, I wonder if he got anything in the way of administrative support. Quote

This was a joke. If I'd have told it it would've caused much pearl clutching and consternation..... billiken_roy 1 Quote

Bay Area Billiken Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 The CBI is a start at program building. See SLU and VCU 2010. Quote
