NCAA games of note:

Undefeated, yes undefeated Missouri St. (18-0-1) with a first round 1-0 win over Denver. It is their first NCAA win in program history  They advance to play at C.Florida. SLU had an exhibition with Missouri St. Pre-season.

Rhode Island falls in the first round 3-2 against Syracuse. Wright State gets the thrilling 3-2 win at Notre Dame in their first ever NCAA game. (1 of 4 NCAA first timers this year)

Top overall seed Virgina had a bye, as did SMU.

With wins this weekend.....two 2019 SLU opponents have advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals to face each other. SMU will travel to Virginia for a spot in the College Cup Final Four. SLU lost to both teams by a combined score of 5-0, both road games.

By the way, frequent long time SLU opponent, Indiana, which has 3 Stl area players  on their team and 3 more committed for next year, are playing UCSB today for a spot in the quarters as well.

Others.....Michigan v Wake Forest, Providence v Clemson, Stanford v Virginia Tech, Marshall v Washington, Georgetown v Louisville.

Men's Final Four tomorrow:

Virginia v Wake Forest

Georgetown v Stanford.

Stanford has won 3 out of the last 4 men's National Titles.

Would like to see SLU continue to schedule these schools. Why not Georgetown, one of the best teams in the country? The Jesuit school has had 8 of 10 NCAA appearances under Brian Wiese, a National Title game appearance and Final Four. 5 Big East Regular Season Titles, 4 conference tourney titles, multiple Academic All Americans (has worked with over 10 Academic All Americans as a coach at 3 schools).

Georgetown and UVA are two of the best teams I saw this year. But Wake and Stanford are very good as well.

Georgetown had a goalie from Webster Groves maybe 6 years ago. Would have been a good time to schedule them.

The sports bras worn by the players were created to measure their performance on the pitch, either in training or in games. The support has a GPS system inside that allows to collect all the necessary information about the physical state of the player, and sends it in real time to a program that is controlling them.

Freshman keeper Patrick Schulte and Freshman Forward Stefan Stojanovic are in the 24 player United States Under 20 Camp in Florida. (There are two other college players)

MLS Super Draft concludes next week. Devin Boyce hoping for a call.

Anyone more in the know than me know if Schulte would be a target for the new MLS team as a homegrown signing?  I know he played for STLFC, so I would think he would be eligible as long as the new team is considered some sort of continuation of the USL team.

Anyone know much about him? Hurt last year?  All ACC Freshman team in '18 then barely play in '19 doesn't make sense.
