I started hating Dems when Jimmy Carter cancelled the B1 Bomber when I was in like second grade but you are out there! Really? I had you pegged as left wing. I was wr--g. (can't say it). 9:00 is as far left as you can get, 3:00 is as right wing as you can get. I am about 2:00, give or take. 3:00 on some issues, 1:00 on others. Don't want to say or accused of political crapolla. Key is that SL Post has shat on Bills for 40 yrs. Stories galore. I liked Bob Burnes, great man, but brought in all MU journalism writers. It still is an issue. Seriously, go to a gas station and buy todays edition, they differ, but the one I saw, it was like it was written by Coach Haith. SLU on page 6 with Conklin getting stuffed. Pretty clear strategy - put someone like him up against a blow-hard like Hannity in order to make liberals seem incapable of making good arguments for their positions. I don't know. I used to listen to Colmes' radio show in college. He was a pretty decent foil for Hannity and someone who won't resort to the kind of outragous stuff some of the MSNBC types come up with. The Post is not a good paper but there really aren't too many left out there. The Post will cover the Bills now because we are winning and relevant. We'll get some preseason love next year too. Does SLU get that amount of coverage in the Columbia newspapers? (yes, I know, Mi$$ou the represents the entire State of MO, while we only represent the St. Louis area) I still cannot figure out why many on this board kowtow to BM, JG and the rest of those PD clowns. Their claim to fame? Being an antler (wow, how impressive). Have you ever seen BM in person -he looks like an unmade bed. When is the last time he ever played a competitive sport? The only exercise he gets is running to and from the refrigerator. Until they learn to publish balanced views, opinions and perspectives, the PD, like all other dinosaur newspapers, will continue their financial spiral. It's just maddening that the ST. LOUIS post disgrace does not give SAINT LOUIS University athletics the same level of sports coverage as they do to Boone County Felons. We haven't helped much due to our generally mediocre play and have been our own worst enemy. But the J-school grads at the PD have generally driven the heavily mizzou-focused coverage. I will take you to task a bit on your characterization of Bob Burnes, a true-blue SLU grad. Very few -- if any -- of the current sports staff at the PD were hired by him. Perhaps you're confusing him with Bob Broeg. The Benchwarmer's best hires at the Globe-Democrat were a terrific group of sportswriters including Rich Koster (now deceased), George Csolak, Rob Rains and Joe Castellano, among many others. Rains did go to the PD for a while after the Globe closed but he is a terrific guy and not an issue. There may be a few others I'm not thinking of. Guess what-in the KC metro area here were the alumni rankings 1. UMKC 2. Kansas 3. Kansas State and 4. MU. Just like in St. L MU alumni are not in the to[ 2. Also, noted Burwell was at th MU game against OK ST. He's been to one SLU game this year and Bernie has been to none. The bias will never win. Let's see what page we're on Sat. morning. Yes, it was a my mistake, I knew better, I was in a hurry, sorry. I have met both Broeg and Burnes several times, though long ago, both knew my father very well. They have been in the AP top 10 almost the entire season! They also destroyed Ok State in a conference tourney game yesterday while SLU didn't play. It is fine to point out bias where it is legit. But SLU didn't play a game, and Mizzou, in the midst of one of their best seasons ever, played and killed a team. Yes, this is a SAINT LOUIS newspaper. However, just as many St. Louis residents, if not more, got their degree from Mizzou rather than SLU. Stop looking for things to get worked up about where it doesn't exist. SLU will get their coverage from the local paper, the local news stations, etc., when they have made the NCAA tourney and won a game or two. It is that simple. When they become a perennial NCAA tourney team, then they will be on the front page. Until then, stop f*cking crying about it! And as for the whole liberal, socialist, commie, atheist, Democrat, pinko rag issue with the P-D, get the f*ck over it! If you are a stark conservative, you will find any political coverage that does not agree with your own to be offensive. If you are a foo-foo liberal, you will feel oppressed by any news coverage that pushes the right-wing agenda and you will be offended. Really, if you automatically get offended by local news coverage because you feel it has a political agenda, then it is most likely you that has the political agenda. If that is the case, then just stick with the media that suits your ideoligical taste, because in the end, you are just looking for what supports your viewpoint. Finally, MB, you are amazingly awesome! You get p!ssed whenever someone makes some kind of slight liberal political position on this board. However, it seems perfectly OK for you to just go full on right-wing loon on this board when talking about the P-D. I am pretty sure why you take that position...because in your mind, you are completely and unequivocally RIGHT. It is fine for you to have your opinions and express them as such on this board. Why? There's this thing called the internet... you can literally look up whatever the hell you want and read all about it. It's awesome. The average SLU student, let alone the average St. Louisan, doesn't give a 2 sh*ts about the Billikens. So - get this - the PD provides coverage as such. Because, you know, it's kind of in their best interest to print stories people care about. St. Louis = front-running city (see: Rams, Blues.. Cards being the exception). When the Bills are consistently ranked and mentioned among the nation's top teams (like say, Missouri this year!), the people will follow, the papers will follow, and you can wave around the front page of the sports section for days as if people actually give a f*ck as to what the PD deems 'important'. Cheesycow - Median age of a Billiken board poster +/- 53? New favorite hobby: coming home from the bar and seeing which irrelevant issue has people up in arms on my beloved Billikens board. Last night it was something involving illegal phone calls, hypothetical recruiting violations, and if SLU should become the next Kentucky. Good thing I don't value sleep. THE. BILLS. ARE. DANCING! I have never posted anything negative about these kids that sacrifice their schoolwork and social lives and risk everyhing out there in front of all of us for our school. Unacceptable: the anti KC posts, they made me sick. And though some construcive criticism of coaching is acceptable, the over the top crude shots at RM over the last few years have been way, way, out of bounds, too. So? .
