AlumniFan
Bills made the front page and the front of the sports page - headline: "M-I-Z S-L-U" The challenging thing for those of us without the paper edition is that the online version is often very different. The four online "headlines" include a tab that is titled "NCAA" and is ostensibly about MU ("MU's OK with No. 2 Seed"). Then, below, are smaller topics about SLU, UNC, and Creighton. jbizzle09
Piling on with your bud, as usual. So you made good friends with jbizzle when you were in town for X. He wrote an entire post about what a great guy you are. Uh, an unusual post. (you, too, why don't you attack broy and all the others that cite Mizzou favoritism over the decades?) So you are taking notes on every post I make on this board now, MB? Hmmmmm, and I thought I was the only one who was a weirdo obsessive creepy 24-7 stalker. Also, why are you trying to deflect criticism to others? Why the need to drag Roy into this? He isn't the one who started this thread. You did. Your arguments should be able to stand on their own without you dragging others into it. When someone posts something I disagree with, then I will reply to that person with my side of the argument. I am not necessarily replying to others who have not gotten involved in the conversation. By you pulling in others who have not been involved in this conversation, it only serves to make your own argument look weak.

MB73
There is a difference between pointing out favortism at the Post and thinking everything there is a communist conspiracy to keep SLU in their place. Did you go to SLU? Did you take English 101? I've never stated that the Post is socialist as it relates to The Billikens & Mizzou. But since you brought it up, IMO the front page, which is supposed to be neutral news, is fraught with far left propaganda, the headlines are twisted and meant to deceive the non educated voter ("GOP Blocks....). And the editorial page... that's where educated knowledgeable perceptive individuals go so far as to call it a commie rag. (bizzle boy... look at my prior 100 posts, quick!) Do you have anything to back up that statement?

Up until 3+ months ago, I had it delivered for 30+ years, so I think I knows what goes on. I am referring to the past, as when when radical loon Matson drew Sarah Palin with a pig snout and pig cheeks and lipstick. What a great guy. Yes, I saw the huge MU pics and articles on a desk last week, follow up on page 5 took most of the page, then us on 6. I couldnt resist. Same old, same old. Predictable as Nehru wearing a Nehru jacket. Maybe I should buy it, it is bankrupt. Wonder why? Like Newsweek, it went for $ 1. Me and broy, partners, we present both sides of the stories with the news, people start buying it again. Definitely, sports, page one, big color pictures of Conklin slamming over helpless opponents... then black and white picture on page 8, Missouri player sitting on the floor after he gets stripped of the ball, looking cross eyed. (I am done til much later... have fun, moytoy-bizzle boy-Pistol and the rest of the alliance)
billiken_roy
and for the record, beyond the restaurant reviews, there isnt much worth in purchasing a st louis post dispatch. i do indeed back up mb in his post dispatch rant. i give mr bonwich slack as he is obviously protecting his job. bomble
You read multiple pages by accident? Socialists now rely on the free market (i.e. calling private citizens for subscriptions)? You're surprised that a Mizzou-educated sports staff writes more about Mizzou than SLU in a market where Mizzou has more TV coverage and more recent success? MB, self-awareness goes a long way. Just because someone isn't presenting exactly what you don't want to see doesn't mean it's evil or they're out to get you. It's all right, buddy. The P-D isn't great by a long shot but it's actually better than a lot of other cities' newspapers (pick up a Cincinnati Enquirer sometime). And I also hate that we don't get as much respect as Mizzou but I understand why. Step back and realize that you sound like a crazy person. I agree, except I am not convinced that the P-D is better than a lot of other cities' papers (their internet editors' skills are sub par). Imagine you're in a different city, say Cleveland. Cleveland State University has gone to the NCAA tourney more often than SLU has in recent years, yet the Cleveland Plain Dealer covers Ohio State more in its sports pages. There are reasons newspapers publish more about some teams than others. Not every person is going to get their desired daily cognitive dissonance in a newspaper, they'll get it through the internet. If you don't like what they publish, don't subscribe to or read it.

If they have this long history of being a commie, pinko, liberal, socialist rag that has never given SLU its just due, then why did it take you more than 30 years to decide that you didn't want to pay for a subscription anymore? Typically, it takes me a little less time to decide I don't want to pay for a magazine or newspaper whose writing I dislike. Heck, that goes for any service or product. I am not going to constantly keep giving someone money for something I despise. But, it looks like you did. For more than 30 years. Good job there, MB. GOSLU68
Maybe this is a private thread but our NY Times had an edition on Monday very complimentary of both SLU and RM. Maybe the Post could relay it to their subscribers as they often repeat stories from the Wallstreet Journal or New York Times a day or two after they are published. Last one for me on this topic, forever. As usual, you are completely mistaken, or are spinning it back asswards, the one thing you are good at. Sure, it was liberal for all those yrs, and thats ok, but the last 5-6 or so it went way too far, it became radical-PC-far left and last 3 it pretty much became a left wing propaganda machine, especially the front page which is supposed to be "the news". Grossly misleadiing headlines on the front page ("GOP Blocks..."), all that, throughough the paper, perfect picturess of Dems, pictures of Repubs with eyes not aligned or pursing their lips to make them look foolish, the whole nine yards. And the editoral staff there, what a joke. They know nothing of healthcare, but write articles that cause anger and confusion to the uninformed. To boot, they attack the SL Police dept at every opportunity, most times unfounded, with, of course, misleading headlines. Editorial cartoonist Matson is 99% radical far left, ridicules the GOP every time. Palin with pig snout-cheeks-lipstick. Enough. At no time did I imply that the sports dept is socialist, another mis-read and/or spin by the bizzleboy-moytoy-pistol alliance. I just point that they have intentionally minimized, even disrespected SLU and favored Missouri U for various reasons all of these years. Sure, out of habit, I kept having the hard copy delivered, read the paper, drink some coffee in the am, the sports page.. but finally I decided I would not subisdize their agena, even though it is not a big expense. Many of my friends and associates have canceled it in recent years, laugh when I tell them I did and ask what took me so long, and more and more are doing it every day as we chat on this matter. Ha, now SL Post calls me every 2 weeks with deals, "a couple of free months" resubscription offers. They do not get it. They are failing. Bankrupt parent company, SL staff has been decimated. Why? Try to think. (again, great food/restaurant dept... but I think they sell only 120,000 day in a 3.5M metropolitan market. Only paper in town. Yes, I know the internet rules, but...thats it for me on this, they can make the sports page all Missouri, all 9 pages, good luck)

Our hope is that children will be slowly influenced by our subversive tactics. Also, see Box's post above. Huge photo and article this morning- further proof of the P-D's aggressive leftist Socialist agenda. Another sign of this Socialist agenda: calling you and other former subscribers twice a month to beg for your business back, because that's how Socialism works, per my understanding. brianstl
Ekker years? Yep. A pitcher on the SLU baseball team shut out Wichita State. It was called in to The Post, details, box score, everything. The next day, middle of the week, SL Post did a full three page spread on the Mizzou-Mizzou spring football practices, pictures of all the players. No mention of the baseball game that day, or ever. They didn't cover a SLU college baseball game? You are kidding me. The paper is loaded with articles on Mizzou baseball. I couldn't even find the Blues game story today between the multiple features on the Mizzou baseball game.
