MOStateFan
He said a lot nice things about DePaul at the end of the interview. And he seemed to be giving his credentials to be able to recruit the Chicago area.... Just joking. I think this is all intended to be a "purpose pitch" at Biondi. He better be careful, as Biondi may go Juan Marichal on Majerus.
dneuner
Good interview with Rick. Now if we could just get him back on ESPN talking about the Billikens..
DirtyRican
Agreed. That was a fun interview especially after the recent MVC rants. Maybe he just doesnt like any of the STL media guys?
brianstl
Good interview with Rick. Now if we could just get him back on ESPN talking about the Billikens..@JohnMarecek Isn't the DePaul job open? Funny that Majerus won't do his own show but does Chicago radio. about 2 hours ago from UberTwitter in reply to JohnMarecek
thetorch
miklasz @JohnMarecek Isn't the DePaul job open? Funny that Majerus won't do his own show but does Chicago radio. JohnMarecek @miklasz Yes, Depaul is open. He's one heck of an ambassador for the University. He must feel he needs to make a point to somebody. JoeStrauss @miklasz Glad I'm not the only one who sees irony in that. #WhatAboutRammer JohnMarecek @JoeStrauss @miklasz Rammer could be a caller &, 101 could simulcast the WGN chat #FirstTimeLongTime JoeStrauss Funny: Majerus takes SLU's money but does little to advance their visibility or PR. #SteppingStone JohnMarecek @JoeStrauss I understand Majerus' complaints. If you want to be big time, be big time. SLU just thinks their big, and only going so far MatthewHLeach @JohnMarecek And who exactly forced him to come to SLU? JohnMarecek @MatthewHLeach The money JohnMarecek Majerus is doing multiple segments on WGN while crapping on his local coaches show. The interview will continue after the break here... bobfescoe @JohnMarecek I guess he prefers a bigger audience? Is this a slap at STL? If so get out fatty. JohnMarecek @bobfescoe Posturing at it's finest. DePaul has an opening, they pulled his charter flights, and now he bagged his show for Chicago show. Basically the jist of what was said on twitter in regards to Majerus

BACKHANDtheRICAN
I missed it but looks like you did your homework. I do give your alma mater credit some though, your most famous alumnus is Samantha Steiner who is a "professional porn star with big boobies" (according to wikipedia). If they got you a high school degree then porn stars must be lining up to get into that school system. I do notice an unexplainable surge in your power numbers between '99 and '00...care to explain, Dirty?

davidnark
Even more bizarre, I believe 550 simulcast the WGN interview during the same time when Majerus was contractually obligated to conduct his radio show on their local competitor. They kept pumping it during breaks acting like any minute that Majerus would resign from SLU and accept the DePaul job over the radio. Billikan
Even more bizarre, I believe 550 simulcast the WGN interview during the same time when Majerus was contractually obligated to conduct his radio show on their local competitor. I was out to dinner but my son called and said he listened to the interview on 550 and he said it was great. While I can understand some frustration by some folks over the 101 thing no one who is a Billiken fan could be anything but ecstatic about a Billiken coach giving a great interview on WGN in Chicago, promoting the team and the school while on a recruiting trip and talking about a great Chicago player who signed with the Bills. Over the past two decades we would have killed for a coach who had the contacts and the ability to pull off such an interview on one of the most famous stations in the US and in a town that is a hotbed of potential recruits. I give the coach a big thumbs up for this one.
RUBillsFan
Dan Caesar will have an article on Majerus' radio escapades in tomorrow's post. Does anyone have a more worthless job than Dan Caesar? He is a member of the sports media who reports on the sports media. Its amazing that this guy still has a job at the PD given the fact that the newspaper industry is struggling so much. I mean really who gives a crap about anything Dan Caesar writes? IMO the only way the PD could make a worse use the space that a Dan Caesar article takes up is to just put a giant picture of Caesar there (he is one freaky looking dude). Band Legend
It was definitely the best Rickma interview I've heard in a long time; obviously Kaplan is an old buddy. And only a person reading some tainted tea leaves would say that the interview was a precursor to Majerus going to DePaul. That being said, I love having the games on what has quickly become the superpower of St. Louis sports radio, and on a signal that comes over my radio well in West County. He needs to make some nice with 101, and he better respect Rammer, who is the best media wing man he'll ever have, even if he doesn't realize it. As a matter of fact, I'll bet he has more readership than T. Timmerman. The fact that you don't like his revelations about SLU's putrid TV ratings or attendance numbers is your issue, not the general public. As far as his appearance, that'a childish response. It has nothing to do with his work.

Great interview and it has nothing to do with Depaul. That being said we need to treat 101.1 better. They are they key to the St. Louis sports market and we should be happy to be on there. No reason to piss on them.
