I listened to the Opening Drive and the last two segments of today's show, and I don't know what you are upset about, unless it is the other two segments.
Frank stated he talked on the phone to several people actively involved with the search.  He stated Schertz has talked directly (not through his agent) to Dr. Chaifetz, Fred P, Chris May and Joe Conran.  Apparently Schertz won't accept any job until his team is out of the NIT.  He is still in the running for other jobs.
Frank asked Dr. Chaifetz if he 'was your guy'.  Chaifetz reportedly said, "We are talking to other coaches, some who are coaching in the NCAA Tourney."  The only other name that Frank and Rammer talked about was Bryce Drew.  Bob commented that Grand Canyon has several Dr. Chaifetz level backers.
Corey Tate, as current Interim Coach, goes to the office each day.  So does Harriman.  Jimerson is interested in staying, but hasn't committed.  (He apparently likes Coach Tate.)
Parker has heard from quite a few P6 schools.
Outside of the SLU talk, the story on the Iowa lineman was interesting.  This football player originally committed to Iowa but flipped to Alabama on signing day.  At the beginning of the Jan portal, he transferred to Iowa.  Now, 3 months later, he is transferring back to Alabama.
I’m interested in your reaction. Where was the meltdown mode as I missed it.

This is true.  Nebraska is the only current Big 10 member not in the Association of American Universities.  So it is not a requirement for league membership.  New members UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington also belong to the AAU.  Any Big 10 Expansion candidates would have a much greater odds of acceptance is they are AAU qualified.  In 2023 the 71 AAU schools received nearly 60% of all federal funds for academic research.  In 2021 that was $31.5 billion for, at that time, 65 member schools.  You can do the math and see how important AAU membership is to the Big 10.  (Football media rights are estimated to reach between $80M and $100M per school per year under the new contract.)
ACC members that are in the AAU are Duke, Miami, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pitt, and Virginia.  These schools would be at the head of the line for Big 10 poaching from the ACC.
AAU Member Kansas would be a poaching candidate from the Big 12, if the dominos fall that far.

Here’s a transcript of the phone coversation:
Bernadette talking to AD of ACC school playing FBS football: “Hi! Are you interested in joining the A10?”
AD of ACC school playing FBS football -“click…” followed by dead air
    Bernadette: “Hello? Hello?”
I’m not sure what the future of the ACC may or may not be, but they are not going to join a non-football playing conference, you can bet on that.

    Thanks for asking.
I tried to find my response to ABomb when he basically asked why I hadn't jumped on his bandwagon.  I can't find it, but I will paraphrase:
I don't care who the coach of the Billikens is.  I don't care how much he makes.  (Apparently some posters would have been satisfied if Ford had made $250,000.  I never understood "We aren't getting our money's worth.")
I don't care who the AD is and I don't care how much he/she makes.
I don't care who the public address announcer is, and I don't care if the band plays at the games.  I don't care what the price of beer is at Chaifetz.
Basketball is entertainment.  I want to be entertained when I watch a basketball game.  I want my adrenaline to rush.  Hopefully the Billikens win, but if the game is a good contest, I am satisfied no matter who wins.  The Fordham loss was a good example of that.  Who wasn't entertained with that game?  Basketball doesn't feed any of STL's homeless or impact the crime rate in STL.  It's entertainment.
There are countless coaches that can/could be in front of the Billiken bench.  Some of course would do better than others.  But it is a krap shoot.  You never know the results until you have the results in hand.  And due to the NIL and portal, the way to basketball success has changed dramatically.  Ford's coaching methods didn't change over his tenure.  He didn't de-emphasize defense, as some think he did.  He didn't get the portal right.  He didn't get the players he needed.  I watch the IU Hoosiers, and Woodson missed on the portal too. He didn't bring in enough shooters. There is no formula for success with this new chaos.
There is no sure thing on the new hire.  If the NIL money isn't there, then it REALLY doesn't matter who the coach is.  A buyout number of $7 to $10 million has been floated on this board.  Likely that doesn't include any buyouts for the rest of the staff.  So who is supplying that money, and how much will be left over for NIL?  No one knows, but to think there will be a surplus is likely naive.  I am not increasing my donation.
I simply find it counterproductive to get emotionally tied up in the search for a new coach.  It doesn't matter what I think nor what any of the MBM's think about a new coach.  Of course, posting opinions and desires is fine.  I don't have a candidate that if not selected, will prevent me from following the Billikens.  Whatever happens will happen, and I will give the new regime time to produce, time to give me quality entertainment.

I don't give two shakes on who the next coach is.  I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over the selection.  I'll give him three years to see what he does.
But I did look up McNeese State's impressive 30-3 record.  Four of those wins were:  College of Biblical Studies, Champion Christian, LeTourneau, and - yes, get this - Mississippi University for Women.  I couldn't find the NET for the Women of Ole Miss.  But yes, Will Wade lead the McNeese Cowboys to a 92-23 drubbing of the Women of Ole Miss.  That likely got him votes for Coach of the Year in the 27th ranked Southland Conference.
They did beat Michigan, but who didn't?
I expect you don't believe me, (I wouldn't believe it either) but here is the link to their schedule.

That’s why the source of information and credibility matters. There are non-credible outlets that regularly share misinformation. Yet somehow desperate and/or lazy information seekers keep coming back for more.
“Coaching Changes” is a good example of this. They said Moser was going to DePaul. Then they said it was 90%. Then they blamed their source. Then they said they jumped the gun, it happens. And that would be all fine and good if they had a mostly accurate track record or didn’t trash people on a regular basis while not allowing replies. Yet some people keep going back for more and more. Maybe they like the shouting and trashing of people.
Look at their tweet from yesterday about SLU as an example.
Or their tweets yesterday trashing the Vandy AD because they were wrong about Stack staying. The problem with those tweets are that Stack and the Vandy AD are close friends. There were no surprises for Stack. Many of their tweets contradict one another so they can simply point to the one that is somewhat more accurate.
So, it’s up to the consumer of information to consider the credibility of the source that produces their information. A surprising number of consumers believe non credible places and later get dismayed when much of their information doesn’t ring true. And they repeat the cycle.
It doesn’t take much effort to distinguish between the two.
