Aaron Hines has to be wondering why he didn't get this kind of walk-on love from the board. 😉

Couldn't care less if next time I hear his name he's playing in the NBA or I ask him for the double w/ cheese. He's an adult. Time to grow up and take responsibility for his own life blaming people advising him is ridiculous. His choices are his and his only.

I know many here, possibly myself included, were thinking/hoping that at some point in time, SLU would get hit with lawsuits after they threw out several players for something that did not lead to criminal charges. Legally speaking though, the fact that criminal charges weren't filed means little to nothing with regards to whether or not one of the players would prevail in a lawsuit against SLU.
The bottom line is that SLU, as with other universities, can set their own guidelines as to what they believe amounts to consensual behavior. It doesn't have to line up with what criminal statutes say with regard to that behavior. Therefore, there will be instances (actually probably quite a few) in which behavior will violate SLU's guidelines but fall short of violating criminal law.
Unless someone can make a civil rights case based on the players being targeted by race, I expect no lawsuits, or at least none that yield any results for the players.

Absolutely right on all-out attacking working up to a point and teams that play smarter, keep their lines together, and remain patient as the game wears on, can ultimately win.  However, I think the hardest part about using the style that Kalish is introducing is getting the attacking-minded players to ALSO play defense especially in critical transition points.  In all the years of coaching soccer, time and time again I would have to coach up a talented forward to recover the ball even when he/she lost the ball.    So if Kalish can get that portion of the field reacting to turnovers in a second-nature way, he can then focus a bit more on the defensive acumen of his backline and tighten things up, especially on deadballs.  Therefore I think the IQ will rise over time as they learn to adapt the style through the game, like  you said.

I play in the top Hong Kong amateur league. My team used to win it most years, but we've aged and haven't added young blood. We now struggle against some of the younger, technically sound clubs. We played the top club last night (i'm still sore) and they destroyed us. Wave after wave of attack. But our mids sat back and keeper came up big, time and time again. One counter attack, we came close to scoring. The second, we scored. 1-0 at the half. Second half, same thing. They destroyed us - led by an English midfielder that was on the books at Wolves 2-3 years ago. Our ex pros played in the mid/late 1990s. But we get a free kick, bam 2-0. They got one back but we won 2-1. With two shots on goal. They had maybe 15-20, or more.
The point, all out attacking is great and can be successful, but when you come up against a team that plays smart, calculating football, the all out attack and press can be beaten. And it's up to the coach to recognize that and adapt the system. It's also incumbent on the players to know when to push forward and when to relax, and when to cover for someone and when to join the wave. Need a good level of teamwork and football IQ. It's fun to watch, and will win you games, but not championships unless you know when you play as a team and know when to change tactics.

We get it you don't like soccer. So why bother come on the soccer thread? What separates your posts on the soccer thread and the Tilowski or whatever the f;;k his name was posts from yours? The answer is nothing.
As bad as SLU soccer has been the past 30 years it's still better than SLU basketball has been. So I'm wondering how you can be a fan of such a team and spend time posting on a message board about them? No one is saying SLU soccer today = SLU soccer of the past. However, we're still fans and we'd just prefer that people that don't like soccer don't troll the thread which is btw what you were doing. Just as SLU basketball fans don't want people that hate SLU basketball trolling those threads.
Lastly, I would have just assumed you have better things to do with your time

Billikens are up 3-0, 32 minutes into the game against Marquette. Davies, Brown and Noveas have scored.

-my goodness, what is up with all of these kids changing high schools? I remember when the only people changing high schools had actually moved residences

He did the same with another prospect recently too. A kid retweeted a friend’s commitment and old guy posted on the board that the kid himself had committed. He doesn’t know how twitter works, so he probably shouldn’t be trashing kids based off of it.

To expand on that SLU uses the full amount. The idea that you don’t have a minimum of 11 scholarships is baffling
  15. billikenfan05 liked a post in a topic by William Iken in How is this possible???
To be fair, the NCAA (thanks Title IX) limits men's soccer to a paltry 9.9 scholarships. As there's 11 players on the field at one time, 2 back-up keepers and at least another 7 field players in the rotation, it's easy to see that most university's choose to split the scholarships to attract a more players (instead of full scholarships on a few) and rely on academic scholarships for a large portion of the players. So we can't blame the SLU administration this time.

You can request all you want but just realize I'm going to write whatever I want. However, if I use a bad word I'll wash my own mouth out with soap as punishment. You moderate away, you're not going to tell me what language I can use.
It's a sports message board and people are going to react passionately. Sometimes over the top, sometimes civil, sometimes not. It'll be ok.

Childish, mate. How is this statement wrong: "His response could also imply that with the player not coming is requesting a release, and the "second situation" is the player he is not sure will arrive - meaning maybe he won't qualify"?
That's actually what @Billiken Bob clarified later on...
Several hours later, you post the same response as if you're enlightened and ignoring Bob already stated exactly what he meant (which is my above quote - which you somehow just called "wrong"). So I gave you a bad post for simply re-confirming what the source already confirmed. You giving me a bad post within seconds is, as I said above, very childish.

Edit: Note that I gave B Bob's response of "Correct" a good post, over 2.5 hours ago!

@Billiken Bobdid not say qualification issue. Actually his first response to the question of how someone can not turn up was asking for a letter of release. Someone else mentioned not qualifying, and Bob responded that's the second way. But the initial response was not qualification issue, it was seeking release.
Maybe I am reading too much into that, but you and others have just jumped on the non-qualification route. Seems to me he left either option available, and maybe even hinted it was the first.
His response could also imply that with the player not coming is requesting a release, and the "second situation" is the player he is not sure will arrive - meaning maybe he won't qualify.
    Care to clarify Bob?

He's saying one is asking for a release and the other may not qualify. I didn't jump on anything that wasn't there.

Boom! Roster looks great on paper. The coaching staff has done a great job addressing what we lost (and I still sometimes wonder just how good Henriquez would have been for us), well done Coach Ford and company.

    Thanks Rich.
I am not a spokesman for SLU.  It is up to them to make an official announcement.  However, I am sure about one signee asking for a release.  There is another who may or may not make it here.
But if we analyze things with an open mind,  this weekend is a big gain for the Bills.  We just signed two very good players and will have their scholarships to use again next year and try to recruit over the one or two players that may not or do not show up this year.
