Every UW fan here so far has been super cool except for one, who sure did sound like a UD fan. If this were the Billikens squad of last year or even two years ago, I would "like" Washington's chances of winning at Chaifetz, but this year's squad is experienced and hungry and it will be UWash's first road game of the season, and they're not a battle-tested group. It's no simple task to win on the road against a team of SLU's caliber: Boston College found that out in the first year at Chaifetz, and this year's edition of the Billikens is better. slufan13 Posted November 19, 2011 Share Posted November 19, 2011 Our defense has obviously looked great so far, but our best offensive players haven't had a good game yet. That's why I think we'll win tomorrow. KM, DE, even MM, and RL have all somewhat struggled offensively. Every team will have guys that will struggle offensively at times, but good defensive teams, especially ones coached by RM, pretty much bring it every night. I think if KM can break out tomorrow, Washington could be in a lot of trouble. As far as the pace of the game goes. Obviously we are better slowing it down, but for the first time in years, we have a team that could run for a while if needed. In fact, some of our guys might be better suited for a fast paced game. Look at the Jacksonville game last year. We're losing by about 20 with 15 minutes left and Cassity goes down on a cheap shot. JJ, MM, and DE take over the backcourt and push the tempo. We cause a bunch of turnovers and win the game. Yes, I know Washington is significantly better than Jacksonville, but if the tempo gets pushed for a 5 minute stretch, I don't think we would just get run out of the gym. It's going to be a good game. It'll be a good test for both teams. Washington is the more skilled team, but since when has that mattered in sports. For me the tiebreaker goes to the home team. Just a couple thoughts. First, the Dawgs are much bigger and faster than your kids. You are giving away about 5 or 6 inches per player. The UW strength is in its wing players who love the open court game. I think you will be surprised by how many 6-5 to 6-7 athletic kids the UW can put on the floor at once. They all score well and defend. Second, our guys really improved from game one to game three. We should have beaten all three teams easily. They played everybody which led to alot of confusion at times. By game three they were pretty dominant. At this point in the season that extra game we have played could prove very valuable as guys are starting to find their roles. Third, Aziz N'Diaye is going to be an NBA center. He is athletic and much improved from last year. Wroten, Gaddy, Gant and a couple others could have a future in the NBA as well. Good Luck, tomorrow. GO DAWGS! Well good news is that Rick lists his players 1-3 inches shorter and The Great Romario lists his guys 1-2 inches over what they really are. So don't expect a huge height disparity all over the court. I think they are one of the ten most talented squads in the nation, all it takes for them is playing together and gaining experience, something they lack a little. I know SLU well enough to think that this is going to be more competitive than the Dawgs fans expect. I think at the end of the year, we will look back and say UW was the best or second best team we played. But I think we CAN beat them and we might do just that. I missed the youtube video of the the Washington Bball team foot racing the Billikens. Can someone repost? Fact of the matter is this will be a good measuring stick for both teams. I think Washington fans are underestimating the Bills talent. Probably rightfully so given how the Bills have performed in the past couple years.
