Westy03
Agree, but I see no way Willie is still here in 12-13 if the school lets him back in. Get what we can out of the players while they are here and quit the crazy talk about red shirting them for the year.I think the biggest factor for Kwamain is graduating and redshirting the year is the best thing for him to achieve that. ARon
Some points for those who are thinking they'll see KM and WR on the court this year: - RM has previously said that if they can come back they probably wouldn't be able to play until 1/15, 1/19, or 1/26. - That means they could potentially only get to play in 13-15 games. - SLU may very well only be a .500 team at that point. - While they may be in shape, they will not be in mid-season playing shape or have complete chemistry with the team when they arrive. - At least one of them has some real academic issues to deal with and can't avoid many distractions or risks getting made ineligible all over again. - RM has said that he is not doing anything with his coaching this year that will work against what he'll be trying to do next year. (Translation: he already coaching for next year) And most importantly, RM said it flat out last night when asked about KM redshirting. "Oh I'll talk him into redshirting somehow." We will not see at least KM and I expect both of them on the court this season. The sooner you accept that the happier you'll be. :-)

The Wiz
+1. The A10 is winnable this year, but only if we have willie and kwamain. I went to the wofford vs xavier game. Holloway changed his name to "Tu", which automatically makes me hate xavier even more. XU does not have very talented bigs, and with them as the reigning A10 champs, this gives us an opportunity. (freese is an oaf) Go bills. Also, I realize this only mentions xavier, but frankly, they have been such a big thorn in our side. These 2 point losses get really old, and having a home and home against xu now, I think we at least split the series if we have willie and gucci kwamane back. Richmond will be the team to beat this year. X will just have an OK team ...about on the same level as the Bonnies.

Billsrmajic
Fortunately for WIllie, RM doesn't draft for any team. Nor does he greatly influence who a lot of GMs pick. Yeah, you're right. Rick's just coached in the NBA, coached NBA players in the World Championships, developed 1st round draft picks on his college teams, and coached college basketball for 20+ years. He wouldn't be a person who would know if someone is NBA caliber, or someone a GM might call to ask about a player.

But we know for a fact that NBA scouts went to some of Willies games last year and he played great. RM knows a lot about what makes a pro, but a lot of his contacts are leaving the NBA now, and he is not the only one who makes that decision. NH
Please tell me all these contacts that are leaving please. How many are left in the NBA? Who are they? Just curious.By that I mean that some of the guys he coached with are no longer in the NBA. For example, his closest NBA confidant, Don Nelson, was forced out of Golden State this year. It was dumb to act like I know who all RM knows in the league. For better or worse, the NBA is changing a bit, and guys like WR hold some value. I can tell you that RM could hurt any pro prospect as much as help them. We all know you hate RM and Rob Loe. Just a little jab at RM here with no basis. Just a little jab at RM here with no basis.I guess my fear is that RM will hurt WR's draft stock and that would be a shame. So I have a little bit of wishful thinking in that I wouldn't want that to be possible. You can say I hate RL if you want, its simply not true but whatever. I root for Loe as much as anyone on this board, I just think he has a lot of work to do. And I do hate some of the stuff RM says, like this. I hate that he kicks players off the team and that he rambles. But I love the way he recruits. I love how frank he can be. I love the attention he brings the program and his knowledge he brings to the game. But it would be fair to say that I am not quite as big a fan as some people are, that is correct. However, I am as big a Loe fan as others and I will stand by that.

NH
That's a ridiculous statement.Well, he certainly didn't help Tommie Liddell's. It never helps when a coach is basically saying one of his players wont be good enough to play in the NBA. And by hurt I don't mean he won't make WIllie better or that having RM as a coach innately lowers ones draft stock. In fact it might be the opposite. But I would hope RM puts in a good word for WIllie.

I would guarantee Rick will try his hardest to get willie a job in the pros just as long as Willie is committed and wants it enough.

Likewise with Willie. He will have more of a say in if he's drafted than Rick. Rick can't go lift weights for Willie, nor can he go put in time at the gym. Big Rob
I sure hope Willie is in some positive physical shape when he returns. And keeps up his grades!I've heard that WR has lost at least 10lbs from all the stress these last few months and that he will be on academic probation with no room for error upon his return. SLU or RM has covered for WR numerous of times for things such as theft of hotel items, illegal phone calls and I've heard that he's even turned in other peoples work claiming to be his own.(Please don't let this be true!)
