Look, all I was saying was I'd miss this team next year. Most of all, if we don't have a season, I feel for them who've put in the hard work. 
But, if we cannot go to games because our life or health is in danger, so be it. Nothing is worth taking on that kind of risk. I was planning on taking my two grandsons to Orlando for the classic, but am pretty sure that ain't gonna happen. Just like the two games at Fenway I was going to take them to this summer.
Disappointec none of this is going to happen? Hell yes.  But no good crying over things u just can't control. It's gonna be a new world for awhile, and I fear the old one won't be back for some time.

C’mon, folks, think about this for a minute. Take Obi Toppin of UD. He has a good FR season at UD.  He’s forecast to be a lottery pick. So, you don’t think Calipari or Saint Coach K are not going to try and lure him away from UD? He doesn’t have to waste a year sitting, just play his SO year at big time U and he’s got all kinds of exposure. 
I really don’t know what he’d do. He could say take a hike, I love UD. The point being do u even want to give the elites the chance of offering a guy like him with that option, ie you don’t have to sit out a year?! You’re gonna start from day 1? He wasn’t offered by either of these schools coming out of HS,  but UD did. He develops and grows 3 or 4 inches, suddenly, he’s a star who could help deliver big time U a national championship. This is what this rule will allow them to do. It sucks and is not fair to smaller schools.
But u argue it’s not fair to the student athlete. Fine, he can avoid the one year sit if the coach leaves the school that recruited and developed him, but he must sit out the year if that coach has not left. That’s fair. 

In total agreement. The elites would prefer good mid major players over the one and doners. They aren’t dominating in championship banners with their future NBA’ers. But give them the pick of the litter of good mid major players with D1 experience, and they’ll be licking their chops. 
Our roster could be plucked clean by the top P5 schools. We have about 7 guys that could play for any of the elites and get serious minutes. Is anyone confident that if the elites came knocking on Yuri’s, Jimerson’s, or Hargrove’s doors they wouldn’t leave for the brighter lights. 
The only moat the mids have is the sit one rule. Fine, if the coach that recruited you leaves u can avoid the sit one year thing, but if the guy that recruited you and developed you is not leaving you got to sit it out for a year. 

By the way, you can catch Billiken replays on FSMW This Thursday. E. Wash at 3:00pm and then GW at 5:00pm. 

Mid majors will get hammered by this don't sit one out rule. It makes the whole mid major universe a new recruiting field for the P5 elites and even non elites. You take a kid like Perkins who only had offers from La Tech and SLU coming out of JUCO, a P5 needs a scorer. Knock knock is Javonte home this is coach Scumbag from big time P5 University, I have a spot open that's ideal for him. And remember we have a big poach coach living right up the road. You don't think he'd like to snag Yuri or Jimerson. I do worry about a kid like Jimerson being hunted down by the ACC. He probably grew up an ACC fan. Let UVA, Duke, UNC suddenly appear at this doorstep what's he gonna do? That's got to be tempting for a kid who probably grew up shooting hoops in his driveway imagining himself as a Cavalier or a Blue Devil. 
This basically sucks and very much favors the P5 as they inch their way towards taking over the dance.

I've tried to avoid this thread like...er....well like the coronavirus itself, but out of morbid curiosity I catch up on it every so often because it keeps getting bumped up to the top of the board.
I am very disappointed to see @rgbilliken leaving because @Old guy is a complete ****** bag.  In addition to Pistol and a few others, RG is one of the MBMs whose posts I always stop and read all the way through.  On the flip side, Old Guy's posts are always nothing posts responding to someone because he misses a joke or diatribes on something where he pretends to be an expert, but seems full of it.  I regularly skip over his posts because they add very little or no value to the board.  Prior to this latest episode, I never considered him malicious, he was just someone who wasn't worth my time.  Now, I know he is also an who has actively made this board a less informative place by driving away someone who did provide useful information / basketball comments.
If I had more time on my hands, I'd try to troll the shi*t out of Old Guy to get him to leave.  Alas, I'm not retired and useless (not a knock on all retirees - many are very useful, but I'm assuming Old Guy is both retired and useless), so I don't have the time.
Carry on fellow Billiken fans.  Just wanted to say my peace.

Never forget us Indies. We can swing it one way or the other. Once this evil passes, the media and the Dems are going to skewer Trump w/ investigations like a pig over a smoking pit.  A lot of indies will be watching and making up their minds. Personally, I  do think Biden is at the beginning stages of dementia/alzheimers, so he is going to be a huge concern for a lot of independents. Most Dems don't care about Biden's flaws. Hell,  they'd vote for Fred Box of Rocks if he had a D behind his name. But there's also a lot of Republicans who are going to view Trump thru a new lens when all the dust settles on this deal. He's never really moved beyond his base, and, if they get hit hard in the pocket book or by health issues by this virus, just thinking he might be not be able to sell them on a second chance. The knives are already being drawn w/ the media and the Dem leadership. They smell blood, both literally and figuratively.  
If there were ever an opportunity for a strong 3rd party candidate to step up now would be the year. I'm not talking Crazy Bernie, who is in fact an independent. But I would not be surprised to see him throw his hat in the ring as an Independent once he loses the Dem race. Of course finding that independent centrist is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Going to be interesting to see who Biden picks as his running mate. He/She could very well be the deciding factor. 

Wojcik's departure weakens an already weak Spider bench.  That leaves Gustafson (who sucks) and an unproven Burton.  Better not have any of their starters get hurt, ala Sherrod last year or Francis this.  Matt Johnson was a non-player in the Bonnies rotation.

I have heard from others Old Guy's a really fine fellow and loves the Bills. He obviously has a medical profession background, and I've heard this is indeed the case. I read his posts with interest when it comes to medical issues. Plus, he's very honest, unlike most of us, when he says he knows little about the technical aspects of BB. He just enjoys the sport, the atmosphere, and being a part of Billikens.com. I respect him for his contributions to the board.

According to Hoosier Pal, not this upcoming season. I thought this as well. I guess we'll play a home and home with them starting w/ the 21-22 season.

My personal all time Old Guy favorite. One correction, however, they were Mexican Ice Cubes. Not all foreign countries were included. For example, when Crews took the team to the Bahamas to face The Cabana Boys,  ice cube warnings were not issued. 

I don't know how he'll work out for us, but you can bet the farm if Davidson got him we'd have come to hate him.
