waldo027
For the Michigan St and Nebraska game: Saturday is #AveryStrong Day with Nebraska hosting Michigan State in a 3:10 p.m. Big Ten matchup of likeable head coaches who look at the world beyond their seats on the bench. ESPN cameras will point to a Big Red student section wearing gold t-shirts to support Avery Harriman, the 7-year-old son of Nebraska assistant coach Chris Harriman. Avery is a compelling story, and we have asked Chris to help us describe what the family has been through since Avery was first diagnosed with leukemia as a 2-year-old. But make no mistake. The Harriman family shares their trials, tribulations and triumphs primarily for one very simple reason – to help create awareness for other families fighting the same fight and to help find donors that can help families embrace their challenges with courage, clear their hurdles with hope and move their mountains with faith. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=20&SPID=24&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=209861764&DB_OEM_ID=
Cowboy
-from Pat Forde's column at yahoo.com.......we could have had him..........glad we didn't........ COACH WHO SHOULD TAKE THE BUS TO WORK Brian Gregory (38), Georgia Tech. This is starting to strongly resemble the end of the line for Gregory, whose Yellow Jackets are 0-7 in ACC play in his fourth season at the school. There were some good wins early this season, against Georgia and Rhode Island and Vanderbilt, but that seems a long time ago now. Put it this way: Wake Forest’s only ACC win is against Georgia Tech, and so is Boston College’s. And then there was the 28-point debacle against Virginia. Gregory was never a slam-dunk hire, and his 16-43 record in league games has done nothing to convince anyone he’s the right man for the job. I photographed his last game here in 2011, and could hear his bench instruction in the first half. It was like he was a 6th grader coaching his more athletic friends. I've always been a "fan of his work", but was genuinely shocked just how lacking in nuance in Gregory's coaching. "C'mon guys! You have to finish plays" and "Rebound the ball!". It's too bad Majerus vs Gregory didn't last longer...Gregory was under contract at Dayton through 2017-18 when Georgia Tech came calling. HoosierPal
Crean has had 2 tournaments since 2008. At Indiana. It is absurd that he still has a job. Crean is on thin ice in Bloomington, not because of the record but because of the off court issues with his team. If he doesn't clean that up he will be gone regardless of the record. Most of the issues occurred last summer and before the season started. Nothing that is note worthy has occurred off court since the season started, so maybe he has it under control. He will have a significant turnover on his squad for next year, even with no seniors on this year's squad. One, two, or three may declare for the draft and one, two or three may elect (or be told) to go elsewhere

You know better than I do, but seems like Indiana would demand better out of their basketball program. It hasn't been very good since the Sampson fiasco other than that 1 seed that still didn't result in a Final Four.
SLUfan_42
Duke willing its way in an OT victory over UNC. I have Duke along with Wisconsin as the only teams that can give UK a run for their money.. That Duke offense is potent
