billikenfan05
Thought I'd start a thread to discuss the games tonight and tomorrow.
DD3
I've had a hard time deciding who to root for. I'm going with NC State. Just feel better facing a team that really hasn't shot well from beyond the arc, and I think it's a positive that we haven't played them recently. DD3
Interesting article regarding the play-in games and whether participants have an advantage in the tourney: http://regressing.deadspin.com/is-being-cursed-to-a-first-four-ncaa-game-actually-a-1546646071/@kylenw I didn't realize a play-in game victory was worth the same money ($1.5 million) as any other victory in the tourney. billikenfan05
Don't care who we play...I know he's a Shaka disciple but The Mount is fun to watch!
almaman
why we get winner of 2 name programs instead of winner of this no name game on now?
DD3
why we get winner of 2 name programs instead of winner of this no name game on now? The winner of this game gets the privilege of playing a #1 seed next round (Florida I believe).
b.hayes
why we get winner of 2 name programs instead of winner of this no name game on now? I think there are 2 play-in games of the last 4 at large teams, and 2 play-in games of the last 4 automatic bids. The 2 automatic bids go on to play #1 seeds (Florida, WSU) while the 2 at large teams go on to play #5 (SLU) and #6 (UMASS). The automatic bid teams are obviously considered weaker and go against the top seeded teams.

dlarry
2 early fouls on Warren. Not good news for NC State.
billikenfan05
These two teams might kill each other the way this game is going.

I would assume pro Xavier but I am seeing a lot of Sweater vests in the crowd who might be there to root against X. I havent been able to pick up on it one way or the other. Bills By 40
So, my question for you all is how do you suppose we would stop Anya, the 6'9" 325 monster? I mean last year we handled Sim Bhullar but we had CR to help. So far that is my only concern for NC State. Are you getting any feel of the crowd?I would assume pro Xavier but I am seeing a lot of Sweater vests in the crowd who might be there to root against X.I havent been able to pick up on it one way or the other. Very pro-wolfpack. Many "Beat Xavier" shirts.

AMDG
I would love to beat x but nc state's lack of familiarity with us and below average three point shooting sounds good to me.
billikens747
Those are some big guys. Stainbrook at 6'10, 263lbs. Anya at 6'9, 325lbs.

majerus mojo
Both the NC State bigs avg around 5 points a game.
majerus mojo
No skimping on the term 'bigs' either... Someone brought up NMST... Could see a lot of DE around the FT line again, RL shooting would be huge.
Westy03
Warren and Turner will be real tough matchups for us. Dwayne would have his hands full with Warren assuming they advance
