Too's Take: Sports Talk Radio

Recommended Posts

During a relatively down time for our Billiken basketball team, Too would like too hear poster comments on the state of sports talk radio in St.. Louis, for those outside our listening area, Too would also like too hear about your feelings about your area. Too personally gave up on sports talk radio quite a while back. Too found that a progressive amount of small chunks of brain cells were being destroyed by listening too this crap, trying too wade through many hours of commercials and worthless conversation in order too gain a very small amount of info. Dan Cearsar's column on ratings in the PD was very interesting. Based on the target market of men in the age bracket of 25-54 who listen too the radio, if you add up all the different percentages in that particular time slot only about 10% of these males listen too sports talk radio. Too remembers Too's fellow alumni, Mike Bush, talking about what an extreme battle it was through the years too get Sports Plus on the air - the demographics just didn't compute - too few people care about sports. Sports talk radio is dominated by advertising people who are employed because of the accounts they bring and have a general knowledge of sports. Then they depend on their rolodex numbers too get the same people on over and over again. There is no longer an influx of "insider info" because these people are just offering an opinion, not their own reporting - reporting takes work. Opinions are opinions and Too began thinking about respecting the opinions of people who are constantly being recycled through different radio stations, who are these people and why should Too respect their opinions? Too would much rather READ about sports, where you can digest and re-read info and think, as opposed too being bombarded with a bunch stupid text readings, comedy routines, other people's lives, sex talk, and commercials. Sure, there is some good info that can be gained, but filtering through all of the BS was too much for Too too personally handle, it was severly effecting Too,s perspective on sports. Wade in on the subject.

so it goes

Condense your questions and statements or separate them "intoo" different posts. I know talking in the 3rd person is your thing, but it really can detract from your general statement or points you are trying "too" make. I like "too" try and respect everyone's opinion on this forum, including yours.

I generally agree with Too's sentiment about Sports Talk Radio. Its mostly garbage. Having said that I often find myself listening to 101ESPN on the way to (Mike & Mike) or from (the Fastlane) work. Usually don't get any real info or insight out of it, but if my other regular stations are on commerical that is where the dial goes and it usually stays for some reason. However, sometimes I feel like I am just getting dumber listening, get burned out, and try to stay away for a while. I'm kind of a sports junkie though so even if its mostly garbage, I'll usually choose sports.

Thank you for your reply Mr. Pirahna, a very meat off the bones reply. Triangle has a tendency, a very purposeful tendency, too explain Tooself in a very clear manner. Too does not believe in text message crap, abbreviation crap or whatever. People need too express their opinions in a compositional format. People need too enter their comments on the internet the same way they would express themselves if they were talking too an actual human being - face too face. THX (abbreviation?)

so it goes.

It appears that T&T has two distinct personalities most notable in the reference to himself first as Triangle and then as Too in the next sentence. I would assume Triangle is the more educated and rational personality and Too is the more crass and less patient type. Would you agree with this assessment, Triangle? What is your take, Too?

So it seems.

Thank you for your comments Mr. Pelican but Too and Triangle have very multiple personalities. There is the obtuse triangle, the equilateral triangle, and of course when Too was a baby, the aCute triangle.

It is not how it seems - but how it goes.

so it goes.

It is called humor as I can see from you above post (which is funny) you are able to understand. I see the obtuse version is the latter and the acute personality is the former by your separate and distinct statements highlighted accordingly.

So it seems.

Dear Mr. Pelican, this tidbit of Too's vast experience in life is by no means meant too be humorous. It is fact! Life is never about how it SEEMS too be, (Did Too just end a sentence in a prepositional phrase?). "Goes" is a very forward thinking word and that is what we should always be thinking about in our lives.

so it GOES.

Be is a verb therefore you did not end your sentence with a preposition. Life is about perception which is our reality.

"To be" is an infinitive, not a prepositional phrase. "Take it to the hole," ends with a prepositional phrase, and that's normal syntax. It's something we can put up with (that ends with a preposition).

Too much rambling for me. Too seems entirely too proud of his opinion.
