  1. I was impressed by Kromah, Armwood, and Larsen. They have a very solid core group of guys at Gee Dub
  2. anybody else streaming get kicked over to the kentucky game?
  3. That's why I said sit behind Crewes for a few years... Pretty small sample size for your recruiting example as well. I'm sure he's had a hand in getting a few of the other guys we have too. And it also appears that Australia is a good recruiting ground, it sure would be nice to have (I'm guessing) the only Australian (foreign?) head coach in major CBB.
  4. I'm not sure I'm not the CBB historian like others on this board but the more and more I think of that idea the more and more I like it. It's a win win, we retain and reward the great job that Crewes has done but also set a time limit on his term. i honestly don't think he wants to coach more than a couple more years. We also get what everybody here covets, a young spark plug coach who can coach AND recruit, and is also a known quantity to us and the basketball program he would also continue the Majerus system... I am really curious to others' thoughts
  5. Ok this is just a crazy idea that popped in to my head but I absolutely loved Chris Harriman when he was here and I would also love to see him back again. What if SLU could name Crewes the HC for the next two years then name Harriman as the coach in waiting. University of Wisconsin football team did it back when they were making the transition from Alvarez to Bielema and worked out very well and the program didn't miss a beat (that is until Bielema stabbed Alvarez in the back this past year...). It's just a crazy idea but wondering if anybody had any thoughts on that idea.
  6. This. is. awesome!!! New nickname for the Bills should be the roughnecks
  7. Why is this a topic every year?
  8. I believe Griesedieck is St. Louis' oldest microbrewery (could be wrong) although it has been closed a couple times (Prohibition and AB kicking its a$$). Bought a 6 pack of the Golden Pilsner this past weekend after leaving Oktoberfest.
  9. No. San Diago will move to LA. The Rams are heading to San Antonio. The Bills to Toronto. The Jags to who cares (maybe London). You heard it here first!
  10. Woke up this morning after dreaming I was raped by a herd of donkeys dressed as zebras. Signed, Lifelong Packers Fan
  11. Child's play. Launching water balloons out of the penthouse of Coronado. We could nearly hit the entrance to Fusz food court, prime launching time was around noon.
  12. Yup. Haven't been to BB&B in the STL area so couldn't tell you if they're on the shelves. Here in KC all I have seen are the usual suspects with the additions of Wich St. and Mo. St.
  13. I think that there is a large enough distinction between the "power" conferences and "mid-majors" and the "one bid" conferences that there does need to be labels. The A10 just falls in a grey area. It has been better than some of the "power" conferences in the past few years and has separated itself from the "mid majors". I think the media has trouble defining the A10, so the easy thing for them to do is just lumping us with the mid majors. It is nice to see people like Bilas begin to give the A10 the proper recognition, I think most of the NCAAB commentators would probably agree with him, that idea just has yet to crossover into the regular multi sport commentators' at ESPN, CBS, NBC etc. vernaculars.
  14. I guess that would hold true, now that Calipari is out of Memphis
  15. What term would you give Mtn West, A10, CUSA, Mo Valley etc.? I hear non-BCS conferences thrown around a lot on this board, but even that term is incorrect because the BCS is only applicable to football not to any other sports.
  16. Based on Miklasz's article on stltoday.com it's not sounding good. Miklasz did not have any info on Rick's health, basically stated the silence is deafening, but the article is very touching. Never realized they were very close. Here's the link: Bernie: Majerus face to face with fear
  17. Love it Jimbo! Keep them coming. During the summer your posts are one of the main reasons I keep coming back to the board. If people don't like your posts they should just continue scrolling down the page.
  18. Agree with the premise that this is sounding all too familiar... Waiting to completely form an opinion until more info is out.
  19. Very disturbing. From my interactions with her she was a very down to earth and kind individual. Still a little shocked that this would happen.
  20. Well said. I tend to agree with you. Naturally we are short term thinkers. But Biondi's track record speaks for itself, the man knows how to run a University as well as anybody. By doing so you have to make unpopular decisions. Just a month or two ago we were shouting from the mountain tops about how great the downtown law school was going to be for SLU, and now we are all upset about how some dean, who hasn't even unpacked her bags is upset that Biondi made a few decisions that disgruntled her. Sorry to upset her but this is going to happen at nearly any University which has has a strong leader at the helm, and the people screaming for his job are idiotic that some fledgling Law professor is going to take him down are downright stupid muckrakers. The facts of the matter Fr. B has taken SLU to heights unseen and will continue to until he decides to step down, end of story.
  21. Bizzle, I have to disagree with Bo Ryan being on your list. But other than that agreed! Anyone else here thing Buzz Williams might be the most overrated coach in the country?
  22. This is a bit out of bounds. From my experiences basketball players tend to be quiet in class therefore maybe making it seem they are not intelligent. But after getting to know a few, they are pretty smart and are either average or above average (well above in Conklin's and Eckerle's cases) SLU students which we all know is above average for the majority of 18-23 year olds. IMO sometimes they feel like every little thing they say in class will be judged under a microscope by their peers so they probably don't risk saying much at all.
