Fordham by 19 over Bills

you relatively newbies to the board dont realize the entertainment value of big country. in his finest visit stint a couple of years ago, it was like a robin williams concert it was so good. it even inspired our own box and won to start that once in a lifetime novel and he shared chapter one here to spotlight the real story behind big country.

one would hope box would share that chapter again with you newbies and then you could see for yourselves how valuable big country is to billikens.com. but the bigger hope is that box starts to work on chapter two as the anticipation and painful too long of a wait for that chapter two to come out has been very tough for us literary fans of box. it has made me realize and appreciate the pain of the harry potter fans having to wait for each of the books in that series.

I'll see what I can do... :)

I think he means the funny Robin Williams pre-Ms. Doubtfire when he was still on coke.

Anyway SLU over Fordham by 16.

We see Willie Reed return to Dominance (double double), continued emergence of Smif, and Cassity to Ellis dribble drive kick wizardry.

Getcherfaceouttamycrystalball. That's exactly what I expect.

JMM28 already shurrrrrrred it in the refs thread along w/ some of BBC's artwork. one more time:

BBC even got the ball rolling by offering up "GAME OVER."

Okay, I'll take a stab at it. It's not a complete work, by any means, but I just threw this together.

“GAME OVER,” said Basketball Country upon reading the foreclosure notice. Slack jawed, he stared out the kitchen window into the courtyard, contemplating his next move. In just a matter of hours, the sheriff would be knocking on his door and the double-wide currently sitting on lot 23-B of the Terre du Carbon Mobile Home Park would officially become property of Soy Bank & Trust. But the foreclosure wasn’t his most pressing problem; he needed to get this place **** and span before the sheriff arrived, or he'd be headed back to the slammer – no small task, for sure. But thousands of empty Sudafed boxes don’t just throw themselves away, and what in the hell would he do with all these empty ammonia tanks? God damn, he thought, why did LuAnn have to die in that explosion...

The gravity of the situation bearing down on him, he began to think about just how he got himself into this mess. It seemed like only yesterday that he made that uncontested layup, the one that beat Red Bud at the buzzer to win state. They still talk about that game to this day.

As a high schooler, roundball was his only escape from the bleak reality of life in Carbondale, taking precedent over everything, especially his schoolwork. But once that magical senior season ended, it seemed like no one had any use for him anymore. Disillusioned with the game he loved and the townsfolk who had quickly turned their attention to the up-and-coming hot-shot sophomore point guard who held prospects of hardwood glory, he answered the siren song of methanphetamine...

I really tried to avoid it. There was no avoiding this one. It was the only time it was available. Try telling your advisor you don't want a night class because it interferes with Basketball season but I don't play without looking like an idiot.

-obviously DocB is not your advisor as i think he would get it

I had a professor freshman year who made it very clear that students could not take a midterm except when it was scheduled. This midterm fell on the day of SLU's first game in the CUSA Tournament.

I will never forget going into her office and just saying. I know you have this policy, and I am just going to be straight with you. But I want to go a basketball game for a different school in Ohio on the day of your midterm. Can I take it another day?

She said the only reason I could take it another day was because I was so bluntly honest about a ridiculous reason to reschedule the midterm.

The last time SLU beat St. Bonaventure was in January, 2006. It was the Billikens' first Atlantic 10 conference game, and, because of a Scottrade scheduling conflict, took place at Family Arena in St. Charles. SLU had beaten St. Bonaventure in the state of New York (but not on the Bonnies' home court) in the 2002-03 season and at Savvis in the 2000-01 season, but they've never won in Olean, and they've never beaten them on their home floor since joining the conference (I expect that to change this season).

Sorry to nitpick, but the game was actually at Savvis, not Family Arena.
