Majerus kept Thorpe on staff for the transition. It happens. I think Schertz has given us a sense that he knows what he's doing. If it's good enough for him, LFG. Sign some transfers. Get McCottry. Roll the balls out and let's get to work.

I don't totally understand how this contract plays out with regards to next year. I assume he will get the money no matter what, but in terms of his attachment to a particular team I assumed since he was waived by the Nets, he therefore became a free agent at the conclusion of this year? Is that an accurate assessment of the situation?

Manyawu was really good against us in Myrtle Beach. Looking at his box scores it looks like his play slipped a bit as the season went on, but I'll take a 6'9" kid that averaged 7 and 6 as a freshman. McCottry also looks really promising! Let's keep up the momentum!!

The fact Tate is still on campus leads me to think he's going to be retained. Even if it's a Thorpe situation and it's only a year, I think it's good for transition purposes. I still think he adds value to the region especially with the to be senior class in STL.
