Well Auburn’s out of the dance. Self imposed penalty in the FBI investigation. Not sure if they would have made it but one less P5’s good news. 

I don't know if we'll ever get a player like JGood again. I don't think they're are many like him playing for any team today. As a guard he ranked 15th nationally in rebounds. That is what you would call truly unique. If his outside shot has improved he's gonna be a real load for opponents. Just listened to KMOX show w/ Travis. He was talking about Perkins and how last year he snuck up on everyone, but this year he's going to be a focus of defenders. Sounded a little concern that Javonte would some time take it a little easy out there but now he's got to go full tilt every minute he's on the floor. Still, he said he's a very special player who can score in so many ways. Man, I can't wait for the opening tip. 

I'm beginning to think this season will be a play by the seat of your pants deal. The Covid is a raging wildfire right now and will likely get worse until the vaccine thing kicks in. I've no idea when that will happen, but have a feeling it will drag into late summer 2021. The one thing about this plague is no one knows where or who you can get it from. I guess that's due to the asymptomatic carriers. I'll leave that to Old Guy to explain. 
Back to the schedule; no game is guaranteed even conference affairs. For example, as someone asked, what is the rule on the Bills travelling to Olean. Is Cuomo going to say they have to be in lockdown for 14 days before taking the court. Will they be allowed in at all if Missouri is determined to be a hot zone? Do we want to go to the North Pole if it's a hot zone? I really think the only certainty for this season is that it will come down to tourney or regular season winners who are guaranteed spots in the dance. Tourneys may get cancelled and so the league champ would be picked. Bottom line: Don't count on the current schedule to be the same come March.

I was watching a replay of the home UD game today, and it reminded me of how good Demarius is when he comes to play. Kid’s got game he’s just got to bring it all the time. 

No SIU Carbondale? Jeesh, that ought to be doable. It's a bus ride. Even though we despise them almost as much as Mizzery can't we call up Mo State and arrange a game? It's not like anyone has a full schedule. 

If our starting lineup was Jacobs, Fred, TJ, Linssen, and Bell with Lorentsson, Russell,  and Strickland off the bench, we’d be excited about this team. 

I’m shaking all over. No word on TV for this as of yet. Only 8 days away. You’d think somebody would have it scheduled. 

I searched today. Came up empty, although ESPNU is showing a replay of our Dayton game on the 18th. 

What's most interesting is why did SLU slow down it's efforts? Kern is right in Tate's wheelhouse. In normal times Kern would have been considered a real feather in our recruiting cap. It leads me to think the staff may know more about our Senior wings plans than they are making known. If Kern was going to be stuck behind Perkins, Jimerson, Makhi, TJ, and Lorentsson VCU makes sense. I find it hard to believe Ford and Tate just tossed his file into the trash bin.

If we get it in and go to the dance, I think Has and JGood may test the waters, if Perkins gets positive reports he might follow. I also think if we make a run but come up say short of the elite 8, JGood might think it’s worth another go at the brass ring and bring Perk with him. Just don’t know about Has, although I think he’s got the toughest road to the NBA. No doubt, even foreign money would be tempting to these guys, but the Covid situation around the world may well come into play, ie do you want to be stuck in Europe if your parents get sick? So many factors come into play. But the comfort zone of SLU might look really good to these guys.

I scratched my head on that comment as well. A 6'8" 3? Well, what was really encouraging was his comment that if Lorentsson and Jimerson were on the floor together SLU could be a 3 point assembly line. I love to watch slamma jamma, but watching 3 pointers drop like a monsoon would be very exciting. 

While I agree we should not be crawling and begging Mizzery for a game, you can’t deny this is a game many fans on both sides want to see happen. I think it’s despicable that Mizzery feels this game is beneath them, when everyone knows they are afraid of what a loss to SLU would do to their supposed status as the state’s premier only big time program. A lot of intra state rivalries that were avoided in the past have come to be annual games, it’s way past time for Mizzery to stuff their fears and make this an annual game. That said, we should not be begging them for the game. This year would be the perfect opportunity to restart the series, since the travel is by bus and the Covid risk reduced. 

I hate the term no brainer, but this game is a no brainer. It's a freaking bus trip. 

I don't think with all the departures WSU is going to be the old WSU. In fact I'd be surprised if Marshall makes it to the opening game. I read the SI article on him, written by a woman reporter, and if he was at SLU our #metoo ladies would have run him out of town wearing tar and feathers. Obviously, Wichita's not so sensitive. 

For us out of towners; the last 4-5 years TV has given us the bulk of all games with ESPN+, ESPN 2 and U, FSMW, CBSSN, and NBCSN. I would expect this to continue, so I don’t see a need for a SLU only streaming service. Does anyone think the above sports networks are going to change because of the Covid?
