Old guy
That is probably a very good idea, they would have had to play in horrible conditions. Besides, they may have an opportunity to get more stuff out for auction before the tournament. Maybe hsmith will get to rent the mascot after all. slusam
Good call. I was not looking forward to playing in the slop.
kshoe
Tourney has been rescheduled for Monday August 21 at St. Albans. Same day as the total eclipse through the region.

bonwich
They've seen a lot of us play. We're probably better in the dark.

The tournament isn't at Hickory Ridge in Carbondale, so probably not too big of a deal. Seriously though, Carbondale is supposed to be one of the best places to observe the eclipse, so big doings down there.

Old guy
For those of you attending the tournament that day, do not look at the eclipse directly, you need special dark glasses. Golf sunglasses will not do.

Old guy
The problem is that while you watch the show, both before and after the totality of the eclipse (which is supposed to be south of St. Louis) you can very well fry your retinas using golf sun glasses. If you intend to do this check the internet to find out how to carbon black a glass plate or something or the other to be able to watch it. kshoe
Because St. Albans is to the west of the city it puts us in the path of the total eclipse. Not dead center like Carbondale but we will definitely see it for a while.
drkelsey55
Cut the bottom out of a large box. Put a pin hole in one end facing the sun and project the image inside the box to observe

slusam
I had to leave before dinner so does anyone know what was the low score? Did Ford speak and if he did anything news worthy. It was amazing watching the Eclipse on the golf course.

Old guy
Agree, NY did not have the full eclipse, St. Louis did. In order to get the amazement you had to be in the path of the total eclipse other than that it looked at times like the Apple logo, a big ball (looked orange with the glasses) with a bite taken out of it. almaman
Mr eclipse says that on a scale of 1 to 10 a parasol of any size is a 3 or a 4, a total is on same scale a million. Hyperbole for sure but after seeing my first can understand where he's coming from.

White Pelican
I was lucky enough to get invited to a farm on a hill near Hematite MO. We had 2 and a half minutes of fullness. Maybe the coolest thing I've ever seen. No parasols in evidence.
almaman
I may have seen a partial parasol before it started, may turn out to be last hot day of summer.
