Cowboy
-Gary Parrish at cbssports.com is reporting this as nearly a done deal with "Dayton's Archie Miller, Xavier's Chris Mack and Minnesota's Richard Pitino -- the last of whom is a former UF assistant -- are among the obvious candidates to replace Donovan" -from the article... Billy Donovan remains in deep discussions with Oklahoma City and is expected, barring a sudden change of plans, to soon be named the Thunder's next head coach, multiple sources told CBSSports.com on Thursday. A deal could theoretically be announced later Thursday. Donovan could be introduced as soon as Friday. Yahoo! Sports earlier reported that Donovan is "finalizing a multi-year deal." Pistol
Mack and Miller are both signed for quite a few years out, though. 2021 and 2022, respectively. Pitino is still on his original contract through 2019. Pretty significant buyout for any of the above.

Paying a million dollar buyout for a school like Florida is pocket change in the grand scheme of things.
slufan13
Florida can probably afford whoever they want. It'd suck for the A10, but Archie is my first choice if I'm them.
thetorch
Could Florida do better than Archie or Mack? I think so. Also is Shaka kicking himself with this job open. Texas is all potential, Florida is already there.
brianstl
This might be the one that gets Marshall to jump.
slu72
Marshall just signed a pretty sweet extension for $ 3 mil.
billiken class of 15
A couple of years ago, Steve Alford bolted for UCLA barely a week after signing a 10 year extension. While Archie and Marshall strike me as guys who have a bit more loyalty and commitment than Alford, I would certainly say that they are definitely in the mix for the Florida job. Bobby Metzinger
I bet UF stays in-house with John Pelphrey. Career SEC guy, keeps recruits from bolting. EDIT: I forgot Billy just hired Anthony Grant on... could be either one of those guys.
brianstl
Pelphry was awful at Arkansas and I actually think Grant is a good coach, but I don't expect either to be serious candidates. Pelphrey won under 40% of his SEC games.
JMM28
Someone writer-type on twitter claimed that Anthony Grant would go with Donovan to OKC.
Bobby Metzinger
Someone writer-type on twitter claimed that Anthony Grant would go with Donovan to OKC. That's a huge good luck swing for AG...from out at Bama, to UF now to the Association. Huge.
