Actually I met him about 15 years and he not a bad guy. Also that was when he was in his hey day. I was flying from Sarasota to Raleigh-Durham (no doubt to hang with bud Coach K) and sitting in the first row in economy. Sitting in last row business was Vitale, who I recognized immediately. We started BSing about college basketball pretty much the whole flight. The flight attendant because of our conversation kept the curtain opened and he offered to buy me a drink, I declined.
