  1. Gene keady's hair gives me the creeps. Its plastered on his head like smoothly laid tar.
  2. Following the Bills is like being in a street fight you just can't win. You get bloodied and beaten but keep scrapping. Then, when you finally get that second wind and adrenaline boost some a-hole from across the parking lot runs over and curb stomps your ass. RM health is more important than wins and losses so hopefully they can get him healthy enough to live a normal life. Basketball wise this is pretty depressing news the type of thing that will force me to overindulge in some adult beverages tonight.
  3. Would it be nice if a local player played for SLU? I guess, but honestly, I dont really care. I actually find it a lot cooler when an out of towner comes to SLU and then stays after graduation. I guess it could help attendance with the STL high school basketball junkies but I dont think there are enough of them to make a difference. If the winning continues the local players will come but I just dont think its a big deal.
  4. Truer words have never been spoken. Ive met the guy a few times(friend of a friend) and he has no business being on the airwaves. I dont think the guy was trying to create a story or bait Majerus into making headlines he isnt smart enough to do that. It is actually kind of an intersesting topic but Emac was asking the questions in a terrible way and asking the wrong guest. Majerus was professional the entire time and very polite at the beginning. Emac was just to stupid to pick up on the fact RM was going to give him what he was looking for. Emac sucks, and the fact that he can actually find airtime shows me that St Louis has to many all sports networks and not enough radio personalities.
  5. Rammer doesnt need twitter....he is already following you
  6. If I remember correctly Angola was the first real game for the original (and IMO only) Dream Team. The players were more concerned about getting pictures and autographs than playing ball. It was pretty cool seeing how excited those guys were just to be on the court. Then, Sir Charles threw a big time elbow and the media jumped all over him. It also told everyone that the team was there to win. I like and agree with your list Roy. Im also positive that is an honest assessment. I always thought of Conklin as the ultimate BRoy player. Hard working, smart, can play, great rep of the school, wanted a degree. The only thing he was missing was a metro east side tie in.
  7. Troy has had about a billion concussions. He probably cant tell the difference between chicken wings and a garden salad.
  8. I dont know much about international basketball but I would imagine Australia would have a pretty good team. They have an established professional team and send tons of players to the US for college ball. Every year the NBA seems to have 3 or 4 Austalian players in the league. Im not sure how the process works but I would think Austalia would have a lot of veteran professional players in line before Cody. Im sure the experince helped and I bet Cody had a great time and learned a lot but I cant imagine him trying to defend anyone from the US team.
  9. Jett is awesome to watch and a heck of a player. That said, I would love to see him up his FT% to about 75%. With his ability to get to the line, he could increase his PPG by 3 or 4 just by becoming an average FT shooter. Jett will never be a pure jump shooter or 3 PT specialist but anybody can improve their foul shooting with hard work and repetiotion.
  10. I wonder if Conklin is giving Cassity some good natrued ribbing. "Hey Kyle, remember that time that I had an MVP type year as your minutes diminsihed. What about that time I finished my MBA while you were still working on yours." Only kidding. Kyle and Brian are exactly what college basketball is all about. I hope as they enter the next part of their lives they continue to show their faces around the fetz and remain a part of the program.
  11. I agree with you but then again I dont know enough about them to make a judgement call. That said, I dont think the odds makers do either. Im betting that MSU is picked that high for 2 reasons: 1. izzo 2, Because the front of their jerseys says this You put the same team in a Northwestern jersey and they arent getting the love. Its the same reason Duke will always be in the top 15 and ND football will always have a top 10 recruiting class. I like Duke basketball and ND football but I dont like teams being ranked because of the name on the jersey
  12. The perfect combo. Standing alone your ideas are only so so. When put together they become...............THE GREATEST IDEA EVER!!!
  13. As long as he can teach the team this Im down Im pretty sure it would just be African-Australia. I think Kevin Bacon knows the answer to that question
  14. Agree. I dont love it but I dont mind it either. I went to the SIUE vs Murray state game this year and I have to say it was a fun game to be at. Good atmosphere, loud crowd, Im sure a lot of that was because Murray was a top 15 team and it was broadcast on ESPN but with SIUE being so close to St. Louis I would imagine the crowd when we play at their place will be pretty enjoyabe. Besides, IMO, the more tough and higher-profile games SIUE plays the better. It would be awesome if SIUE can turn themselves into a team that can consitently compette in the OVC for a tourney spot. It going to take a while, if it ever happens, but it would be awesome if SIUE can become a solid low/mid major and Saint Louis U has a competitive rival 30 miles away. This series probably wont help SLU much the next two years but maybe it can help build up SIUE, and in the long run help SLU find a very close, competitve, rival that we can play on a yearly basis.
  15. Im holding out for a black austalian coach.
  16. I watch the Blues and follow hockey during the regular season but to me playoff hockey is right up there with the NCAA tournament. Ill watch any playoff hockey game but it is great to hav a rooting intrest again. The Blues are a lot like the Bills in that they have been breaking my heart for over 30 years. Saint Louis U turned it around this year maybe the Blues can do the same.
  17. Thats pretty crazy. He must have a serious attitude problem and lack of respect for authority. Seeing that Mack told him to leave does not help my opinion of Lyons. Good for Mack though. He's a great player and could of helped the team but Mack is apparently bringing down the hammer. I wonder if he ships him out of town if the brawl never took place. With all the problems of last season any little incedent is magnified because of what happened. Mack might have been willing to put up with him for one more year if they had not received so much bad publicity.
  18. Ive seen that before and it always makes me think of this: there was also a game where Tracy Mcgrady scored 13 points in 35 seconds That type of output is beyond rare but Im pretty sure going off like that would throw his system out of whack. Im sure most of the time James is right on but the great thing about basketball is that anything can happen and there is no way to predict the future.
  19. Im pretty sure a lot of cars and couches are still smouldering from the victory riots. Probably a lot of smoke there.
  20. These AD's are idiots. The best part of the NCAA tournament is watching a small no name school knock off a big dog and go on a run. Ill admitt I loved watching two historic programs like kansas and kentucky battle it out for the title but even a game like that will lose its appeal if they got there by only beating teams exactly like themselves. My favorite part of the tournament is the first two day when the little guy has a chance to make history and a name for themselves. Kicking the small schools out would ruin the tournament, and that so many bcs AD's want them out just shows how big of cowards they are.
  21. I've had dreams about being at a party with stephanie tanner, cocain, and strippers and let me tell ya, those dreams don't suck.
  22. Not sure which is worse recruiting/offering an 8th grader or naming your child E-ron.
