A pass followed by a score with two dribbles or less counts as an assist.  That's been the unwritten rule since the mid 1980s.

Great story. Behind every great son is a great mom. Keep it going Javonte. I hope he stays at sixth man. Let our starters jump out to leads that deflate teams and then they see the assassin twins, Perkins and Jimerson, enter the game. It'll be like "oh, shite, now we're really gonna get waxed."

Unless someone is close to Travis and knows where his ambitions and goals lie, all these posts are pure unadulterated speculation. While it's true that Mark Few and Greg Marshall seem perfectly content to coach their very successful mid major programs, they may have very different personalities from Travis. Just to give an example from my career, I was promoted to a different department back in the day, and I recommended a person to replace me. He asked that I not recommend him, because he would turn it down. He said he was very content in his current job and didn't want the pressures that came with supervising people and reporting directly to VPs and above. He liked spending time with this family and had no ambitions beyond being very competent with his current assignments. Fair enough. The guy knew his limitations and was comfortable in his own skin. He enjoyed his work at which he was exceptional. You might not agree with his reasons, but for his peace of mind it was working.
Now I'm not saying Few and Marshall are not ambitious, because they are. Their ambitions lie in putting the best possible product on the floor they can at their respective schools year in and year out. They both are probably the biggest celebrities in their communities. They seem to have all the prestige they'll ever want to remain comfortable in their own skins. They don't require the bright lights of the P5 to massage their egos or further their ambitions. I respect that. There are more important things in life than just money and more celebrity. McKillop falls into the same category. All 3 seem to really appreciate where they find themselves. Is Travis cut from the same cloth? I don't know. If someone really knows him let us in on what makes him tick.
Now the majority of successful coaches look ahead to their next move. More money and more celebrity. But with those ambitions come bigger risks. If you don't replicate the success at the new school that you had at the old almost immediately, you are outta there within a year or three. See Brice Drew and many others before him. Travis has also been down this road. UMass loved him. He could have set himself up for years in a relatively small very collegial community for many years, but he opted to go for the brass ring at OSU. Can't fault him. Probably got a ton of money and could have been the big man in a small college community. He actually didn't fail at OSU. He got good players, made the dance in 6 of his 8 years, avoided any scandals. Results that most schools would be very content with, but P5's aren't most schools. And that will be his dilemma if he takes SLU to new heights. He makes some noise in the Dance with SLU, and you can bet his phone will be ringing off the hook. Does he then consider what he's got going for him at SLU, or does he once again jump into the shark infested seas of the P5? It will boil down to where his ambitions and goals lie, and only he and his family know what they are. Let's enjoy him while we have him and hope he's very happy where he finds himself.

Man, that was fun to watch. Love this team. Sooo, looking forward to  next season. I loved watching Rick's teams destroy folks w/precision, but this squad's athleticism makes the game very entertaining.

I could see BC coming here. KState, not so sure, that was a neutral (in name only) game. However, I can see where Webber who's been cleaning up on St. L recruits would welcome a trip to the Fetz. Of course, he knows he's gonna get his clock knocked off.

I have seen some posts stating that posters are happy that Dayton didn't get a chance to make thier mark in the NCAA Tournament.
    I really don't get that.
As members of the A10, teams doing well when they they play outside of the A10 is good for our conference.
Dayton seeded as a 1 or 2 seed, would have brought a lot of attention to the A10.  And had we beat them on Saturday, that would have received a lot of national attention.
I am sad for Daytons players and fans.  We as Billiken fans should be able to relate to the disapointment of having ,maybe the team of a life time, and have the door slammed in thier face.
Dayton winning a national championship would have been good for Dayton and good for the A10.
I look at the A10 conference as family.  We may fight like cats and dogs within our own family, but when we play outside of the conference, I am pulling for you.

I have to believe JGood will be a first teamer, French and Perkins third teamers. Perkins 6th man of the year. French and possibly JGood make all D team. Yuri all rookie team. Not too shabby, or as Larry David would say, :Pretty, pretty, good.

No animosity here for young Mr. Jacobs. He has proven that he can be an X factor (good thing) or a non factor (meh). Maybe the suspension will be a wake up call for him.

I'm going to go with Ford's take on the best defense he's seen in quite a while was how played against the Bonnies. If we can keep that D intensity level up we are in a position to seal the whole deal. We've been playing some pretty strong D these last 5 games, and tourney games can often be determined by playing great D.

    1) what self respecting school would have brown  and white as their colors?
    2) what exactly is a Bonnie, as in my Bonnie lies over the ocean?
    3) why is a school located inside the Arctic circle in the A10?
    4) are they as big as a large HS?
    5) why doesn't their coach just leave?
    6) welding should not be a college major. No disrespect to welders who probably make more $ than most St B grads out of HS.
7.) they employ drunk bus drivers.
8.) they have to be paying players to go to school in the North Pole.
9.) Their cheerleaders are .... uh, that would be misogyny. Forget it.
10.) they usually have their way with us. This must stop on Saturday.

The Purdue/Indiana/Xavier/Marquette/Texas/TTU group who in reality should be looking at CBI bids or road games in the NIT. If the A10 gets 1 bid, look no further than that list of mediocre to garbage teams for the culprits.

The X factor for me is if the refs will actually call fouls on toppin.

slu72, it turns out that, aside from meeting Rammer and Earl, there was one other highlight to attending the Davidson game. We were there for Perkins' coming out party. He went from an unknown quantity as a D-1 player to a future pro making bank, and it started on 1-22-20. Pretty cool.

310, speaking of Yuri, this isn't intended to downplay the outstanding performances of HF, JG, JP or TW, but I think the player that had the most impact on last night's victory was Yuri. He controlled the ball 50 % of the time and played great D on the Bonnies' leading scorer, but I think the most impactful thing he did was push the ball and the tempo in the 1st half when we built the lead.  I had the same thought while at the game but became even more convinced after watching the replay this morning.  He was flying up and down the court dropping dimes along the way.  I am amazed that he only had 7 assists, maybe because some of them (To Hargrove and French) were so outstanding.
I know most of the team had great games, but on review I think Yuri might have been the most important.  How lucky will our shooters/scorers be the next few years with YC setting the table for them.  I, for one, underestimated the impact a true PG like Yuri would have on our team.  I'm looking forward to the next few years and him getting his FT % up to at least 75% and taking a few more shots each game.

The bracket gurus are getting lazy this is the same nonsense he posted yesterday. We have to beat SVU in order to be considered. But one game at a time first. I don't think any of these Bozo gurus have noticed anything we've done over the past 5 games. Could be time to shock the world again and win the whole damn thing!

What other fan board has such great pre-game and post-game analysis as this one? Thanks The Wiz for your work on this. With one or two odd exceptions, I think the greatest majority of us really appreciate it. 👍
